Thoughts on the Boulevard off-campus accommodation?

Hi again— I just asked a question about Halifax college but I’m highly considering moving off-campus into the Boulevard as it’s a good in between the city centre and campus. I hear some nice things about it. Obviously it’s more pricey than Halifax but between the two, what do you guys think?

What are the pros and cons of the Boulevard?

Thoughts on Halifax college?

I’ve just been assigned Halifax college (shared bathroom) for my first year accommodation. A little bummed I got one of my last options and unsure if I want to pay a big sum of money for a place I haven’t heard great things about… Seeing as I’m in the states and have not taken a physical tour, is it worth 10k (USD)? I want to know how the bathrooms are specifically as I’m a bit of a germaphobe and was looking for ensuite. If anybody has any experience at this college pls lmk (good or bad)!

Lastly, does anybody know of any good third party accommodations for students or even cheap flats in the city? I know that’s probably a reach seeing as it’s an expensive city but just thought I’d ask anyway. Thanks!

Writing clubs in York?

I’ve asked so many questions in this subreddit already but I’m just so curious about what life will be like after moving to York this fall for Uni. I know there are creative writing clubs within the colleges but are there any writing/creative communities out in the city where I may meet like minded people outside of the school?

Recommendations for Dancing?

My friend and I are trying to find some new bars/clubs in LA (we’re in the valley but are willing to explore different scenes in different areas) and have just come upon Davey Wayne’s in Hollywood. Phenomenal music (horrible transitions tho) and great bands too! As much as we love it there, we’re looking for similar scenes with good music (something funky & easy/fun to dance to) and a diverse crowd. Any recs for this kind of atmosphere in LA?

Favorite thing about York?

Hiya! Moving to York this fall from the US for uni and am getting more excited by the day. I studied abroad in Oxford for a few months (absolutely loved it) and have traveled a little around England but have never gone this far north.

What are some things to look forward to? I’m curious about the overall culture and history of York and also want to know about some other people’s experiences living in this city on their own (or experiences when you first moved to York).

Any WA fans in York?

Hiya! Moving to York this fall from the US and am most looking forward to catching some more shows around the UK area. (Hoping that by the time I arrive, they aren’t back in hiding lol)

Any fans in the York area looking for a new friend?👀
