This is funny

I bought a bag of indica from a dispensary.

I found a few seeds.

I have never grown weed before. I doubted the seeds would even pop.

As a joke I tossed them in my pepper plant and said “if they live they live”

Well they lived. I was looking at my pepper plant today and this thing actually grew. I was digging at it a little and the other seeds was curled up but you could see it would go in a day or two.

Who knows if they are male or female. I didn’t care.

I was right beside my grow tent and I leave the door open so it was a joke but it has life.

Heavy flower drop

Smoking Ed Currie Carolina reapers
White ghost scorpion scoville Canada

Still nothing setting. I’m not sure why they are focused on growing and not setting fruit.

The reaper on the left has many many flowers. The reaper in the right has lost almost all of its flowers.

I am giving them Gaia bloom but it seems they are still growing strong and not worried about setting.

My twins are growing up quick. 😢

My twins are like real kids. They are growing up so fast.

These are seeds from smoking ed Currie. Carolina reapers and I bought this tent especially for them. They have thrived to the point my one plant has purple chrome leaves and they almost grow overnight.

I can’t wait for them to start setting flowers it will be the hottest hobby/decoration/edible garden in town.

I have my white ghost scorpion on deck. This will be a dangerous tent soon enough.

I work at a cemetery

Everytime I’m near the stones I have a laugh.

They had to have done this on purpose.

Pictures don’t do this purple justice, but I had to try

My Reaper plant is literally chrome-plated right now.

The stems and leaf veins are this deep oil-slick purple that shifts when the light hits it. Photos make it look just “dark” but in person it’s straight-up metallic purple and black.

Wildest part: when it was a tiny sprout and the leaves were still that bright lime green, the purple was even MORE obvious. That contrast was unreal. It’s mellowed a bit now that the whole plant hardened off to dark green, but it still looks like someone spray painted it.

I know it’s just anthocyanin, but man… it’s the prettiest stress response I’ve ever seen.

Anyone else get distracted for 10 minutes every time they water because the plants look too cool?

For contrast: my second Reaper has had identical conditions 24/7 since sprout. Same distance from the light, same feed, same everything.

Not one bit of purple. No dark stems, no leaf blush, nothing. While this one was showing deep anthocyanin as a seedling, the other one just stayed green.

Both are from original Ed Currie Carolina Reaper seeds, too. Really drives home how much phenotype matters even when you start with “the real deal.” Two plants, same environment, totally different looks.

I cut off all the fan leaves

I didn’t realize fan leaves have a different job than the other leaves.
They are big and my plants needed air and light through the canopy. So I clipped off all the big leaves and left the new growth.

Did this kill off my plants and there reserve energy?

First flower to open, pepper update

The first flower is opening and a couple more close to opening.

These plants are small but have the thickest stems. They will be war machines.

Carolina reapers from Smokin Ed Currie

I have just planted white ghost scorpions and will update when they sprout.
