LCS Run - Success!
Found a 5toz Scottsdale Lion Stacker for Spot +2. My son stacks this series, so I bought the pictured, as well as 3x2toz stackers, for him to buy off of me later if he chooses.
Pictured: front, back, his/our full pride of Lions collected, so far

Do You Want Spot Prices Up or Down?
(Photo is just a pic of some of my Engelhard prospectors for attention.)
What I would like to discuss is this:
You are here on r/silverbugs. Do you want silver prices to move upward or downward. Why? PLEASE say why. The conversation is about the why, not about the up or down, itself.
(For myself, I actually prefer prices to move downward. In the time frames I am working on, I am constrained by price action upward - I actually want lower prices. I want to buy more. Simple)

I love hitting up random LCS on my travels - you never know what you may find!
Mission: Engelhard
Found today in Rockford, Michigan. I had to leave five (5) c-series 10oz bars behind, for lack of fiat shittickets upon my personage.
I won’t be back in the near term, so some other lucky duck has them soon, if not already. I am grateful for my slice 🙏

Promptly got my purchase out. Would certainly purchase coins from again. Thank you.
LCS Review - The Bullion Bank - Vienna, VA - Neutral Experience
I visited The Bullion Bank in Vienna, Virginia, USA on Saturday, July 18, 2026, during their normal business hours.
The shop is well lit, but lacks any signage to indicate that the jewelry store “Vienna Jewelry” (pictured) is also “The Bullion Bank.” I put 2+2 together, and made my way inside.
There is dedicated parking for the shop, and I recommend potential customers take advantage. The general public parking lot servicing the shop’s plaza is very busy.
Everyone at the Bullion Bank was pleasant and I can’t say a single bad thing in that direction. The gal who helped me read all the prices off her phone, which was slightly awkward, but not a big deal.
Now the ugly part:
“Premium” silver +25 (ASE, Engelhard prospector rounds)
Canadian +20
Generic +15
I called earlier in the day to ask if they carried Engelhard, and to their credit they did have two (2) Engelhard 100 oz bars, one of which might have been tier 4 rarity but I was so stunned by +25 premium that I didn’t bother to inquire.
Obviously I bought nothing and deeply regretted my invested time and energy. I did call to ask if they were open, but I didn’t think to ask about premiums - fool is me.
Anyone going their way should be ready for a nice selection in a clean, if discreet store. But you should also prepare to pay a premium far, far above melt for regular bullion you can buy at-spot elsewhere. Essentially, you are paying APMEX prices for rando-level product.
Edit: as someone astutely pointed out - there is a sign that says Bullion Bank right in the window. My bad, I don’t know how I could have missed that from the sidewalk - old eyes I guess!
LCS Review - Morton Grove Coin & Collectibles - Positive Experience
I visited Morton Grove Coins & Collectibles, located at 9241 Waukegan, Morton Grove, IL on July 11, 2026.
I traded with Beau. He was very friendly and courteous toward me. He let me look at any bullion I wanted, with zero pressure. Indulged me in my amateurish market questions. The shop was well lit, clean and safe. There was plenty of bullion and coin inventory for specific interests.
The store’s bullion premiums were slightly elevated, with generic going for +5 and ASE going for +10/15. I stuck to vintage generics, and felt that the premium was earned fairly because of the vintage element to the bars.
I noted only later that the SilverTowne bar is an OOP retro, not a true SilverTowne “FINE” vintage oblong loaf. I remain happy 😇
I’ve included photos of the bullion I purchased from Beau & Morton Grove C&C for those who are curious.
Thanks to all those who helped with suggestions!
S. Maryland / Greater DC - Advice & Reccs Wanted!
Hello again stackers
I am once again asking for your expert opinions on where to shop for precious metals. I will be traveling to the southern Maryland region, outside of Washington DC.
Here are a few shops I could find via the internet:
- Cameo Coins & Collectibles of Vienna
- Bonanza Coins of Silver Springs
- Maryland Stamps & Coins
- Gaithersburg Coin Exchange
If you are aware of a coin and bullion selling entity operating in this region, please let me know! I am very grateful to any Bugs who will share their hard-earned wisdom.
Thank you so much r/Silverbugs!
