5 feels like a different societal step up. Probably a church van. Almost impossible to get a table for 7. More kids than parent hands.

I ordered one of the new diecast models but can’t get the flags in. Seems like the plastic is too big. Anyone else have trouble getting their flags in the new model wrecks?
Trying really hard to get them in without scratching the model or snapping the flags.
Been going back and forth on this. Tax-advantaged stuff makes sense on paper but I don’t love how much of it gets locked up. Curious if people use a hard percentage, a fill-these-buckets order, or just a set amount they keep liquid first.
Edit: emergency fund is not the issue. Understood that should be first priority, but then hypothetically how much should tax advantaged accounts represent, 100%, 50%, 10% of everything else?
Was in the process for a VP FP&A role at a PE-backed company. HR mentioned they have two open reqs, VP and Sr Director, and hinted my comp number and age(might be reading into this one) might put me closer to the Sr Director band. Next I talk to the CFO.
Trying to figure out how hard to push for VP vs just seeing where the conversation goes. Anyone dealt with something like this? Don’t want to shoot myself in the foot either way.
Watching the World Cup and it keeps hitting me. The fan sections, the chants, the whole thing, stuff that’s been built up over generations. Birth rates are cratering almost everywhere and culture doesn’t survive without people to carry it. You lose the language, the food, the music. It just becomes a theme party or a museum exhibit.
I grew up going to Oktoberfest and St. Patrick’s Day stuff that was already a watered down version of something real. That’s where most of this ends up. Anyone else think about this?
Working on a bathroom reno and needed to remove the spray foam insulating my water line where it enters the house above ground. Once I’m done, can I backfill with packing peanuts instead of spray foam for easier future access? House is in Atlanta, so no extreme freezes.
