NIW EB-2- Got my FOIA back — forgot an old A-Number (I-485 EAD question)

Context Info:

  • EB2 NIW
  • PD: Oct 2023
  • I-485 Receipt Date: Oct 2, 2025
  • USCIS Found/Linked the old A-Number: Oct 8, 2025 (per FOIA — just 6 days after filing)
  • Biometrics: Nov 10, 2025
  • Country: From one of the first 7 ban countries.
  • Case: Transferred in June after the Court order to Non-Local office.

Hey everyone — sharing an update and looking for anyone who has been through a similar situation to see what you think will happen next.

Today I received my USCIS FOIA response for my I-485. The FOIA revealed an old A-Number I had completely forgotten I even had. It was issued in 2018 for an off-campus EAD I applied for during my PhD but never actually used because I was so busy with preliminary exams and research. Because I forgot it existed, I answered “No” on my I-485 to having other A-Numbers or EAD cards.

The FOIA shows that my interview has been waived. It also shows that USCIS found the old A-number internally just 6 days after I filed. I filled on Oct 2, 2025 and they found it on Oct 8, 2025.

My Question: Has anyone else been through this? If you forgot an A-number/EAD and answered "No" on the forms, but the FOIA showed they found it early on and still waived the interview—what do you think will happen?

Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences. Thanks!

EB2-NIW – Case moved to SF then Nebraska after June updates?

EB2-NIW applicant here.
I-140 was approved in Oct 2023.
I-485 Receipt: Oct 2, 2025.
I’m from one of the "affected countries" previously under the adjudication hold.

Following the first mass update in June, agents confirmed my case was at the San Francisco Field Office (even though my local office is Spokane). However, after yesterday’s systemic update, an agent confirmed the case was moved again, this time to the Nebraska Service Center.

Has anyone else from the affected countries seen their case bounce from a Field Office back to a Service Center (Nebraska) this week? Is this a sign of final processing or just more shuffling?

Case moved to San Francisco (CA) but I live in WA and have never even visited California. Normal?

Hi everyone,

Here is my info:

EB2 NIW
Prority Date: October 2023
I-485 Recipt date: October 2025
Last update on I-485 was January 17, 2026
Then updates on June 15 and 16

Today, I reached out to a USCIS agent who told me that my AOS (I-485) is being processed at the San Francisco Field Office.

The strange thing is that I live in Washington state (my local office is Spokane) and I have never even stepped foot in California—not even for a layover.

What do you guys know about the San Francisco Field Office? Why would an AOS case be sent all the way there when the applicant has zero connection to that state? Does anyone know if this is a good sign?

Any insights into how the SF office operates would be appreciated!

Pending Adjudication-Emma Officer

Just background info:

RD: October 2, 2025

Case: I-485 based on NIW EB2

No update on code for my I-485 since January 17, 2026.

The officer through Emma told me my application is pending Adjudication. Then they closed. That reminded me of someone who threw a rock, hit me, and ran away. I didn't know what happened or what I did to him. No closure since that.

Anyway, What do you think "pending Adjudication" means?

SEVIS Termination but I have I-485 Pending

My SEVIS will be terminated this June but I have a pending I-485 since October 2025. I told my DOS that I have a pending I-485 and they submited I-983 which shows my last work day was June 30, 2025. At the time, I was on the 180 days of unemployment.

I expected my SEVIS to be terminated but it is not. The last day on my I-20 ends in June 2026.

I am not sure if I got wrong but a caller on Jim Hacking show today mentioned that they had notice to appear in front of immigration jude even though they have a pending case.

Do you know if someone went through similar situation and what they did?

Does anyone know which law firm is filing an I-765 group lawsuit for about $1,500 just for a preliminary injunction?

If you know the firm name or have joined, please share.

My last silent API update was January 17, 2026, and it’s been total silence since. It was recently brought to my attention that a lot of us are stuck on this exact same date.

Is this just a normal pause in adjudication, or are they sidelining our cases and not looking at them anymore?

Has anyone who was stuck on Jan 17 finally seen any movement or approval?
