JFC!!! This is the third meat thermometer I’ve gone through in less than six months! I just need a good, low tech thermometer that’ll last!
Small kitchen lots of stuff hacks?
So I’m moving to a new apartment next week, and the new unit is great… except the kitchen. My new kitchen will have half the cabinet space, and two thirds the counter space. I already feel like I have too much kitchen stuff that’s spilling out of my cabinets, but I’ve made it work, and at least the work flow of how I’ve set the counter space up works, given my prep station, my stove top, and staging area (as well as the cleaning station).
Does anyone have any hacks for increasing kitchen storage, or hacks around expanding counter space? I’ve considered getting a butcher block mobile island that can extend the counter space from the kitchen into the dining area, and using that my prep/chopping area. Something like this maybe?
Shortcuts just stopped working all together.
I have a night time routine and a morning routine. Both are triggered by their respective phrases, “good night” and “good morning”. They worked fine for months and now suddenly neither work. The Apple hub will say “some accessories are not responding”, and then like an hour later say “something went wrong” (which is great to hear when I’ve just barely gotten to sleep).
I’m getting fed with this. Shortcuts has been a night experience from the beginning, and I’m about to chuck my hub out the window on anger. Has anyone dealt with this or been able to fix this?
Why do my shortcuts just not work?
I’m not kidding when I say I have to initiate a shortcut three times before something will actually happen. It’s every one I’ve ever made. I’ll say “play music in the living room” which should prompt my tv to turn on, Spotify to play on shuffle, and change the destination to the tv. But nothing happens. Same could be said for my goo night routine. I’ll say “good night” or “lights out” (bc I made duplicates in case the first phrase was too generic), and the same thing will happen. Or Siri will respond “done” without having done anything.
Third example, I have a routine that’s supposed to be initiated when I silence my morning alarm. I’ve set it up to start even with my phone locked, and yet every frickin morning, it’s sends a window to my iPhone to continue the routine.
Is this normal? It seems like unless I open the shortcut app and press the specific tile myself, it won’t actually follow through on anything. I’ve done all the research and sunk hours into this.
I just got done with a show for my house team. The show was good, but out of all the scenes, I only initiated one, and hung back for the majority of the show. In my defense, I did not sleep at all last night and have been exhausted all day. So I think that contributed to my predicament. But, this has happened before, where I just don’t have any creativity coming to me. The show was popping, there were definitely games and characters and callbacks. But on the side line, and for the life of, I couldn’t think of anything new or any new game moves to make.
Has anyone encountered this? Has anyone figured out a way to lock in when your brain is just empty?
