So I lost a close friend of mine in April. Man was a good friend and an awesome father. Knew him for 10+ years, I have a small circle of friends and he was my last good friend, we talked about life, anime, games, movies, ect. This one hurt cuz he was like a brother and now it's like "who do I talk to now". Some of the things we used to talk about don't interest me anymore because there's no one to talk to about it. I still have my own hobbies but he would ask about them and vice versa. Dad's, how do you cope with this?

What do you do when your partner talks negatively about themselves? Cheer them up? Words of affirmation? Kind gestures?

My X wife always talked negatively about herself and no matter what I tried or did, it resulted in more negative comments or even arguments saying I'm to much.

Well my current girlfriend sometimes talks negatively about herself but when she's with me she tries to correct herself or I say kind things and she loves it from me.
