does vanilla lace smells plastic-y to anyone else?

hi everyone! I’m very lucky to own 4 femmenina scents, my newest addition is vanilla lace.🤍
I don’t know if I have to let it rest, but when I sprayed it, it started of like a clean, body lotion like, vanilla scent, but a few minutes later it smells like plastic, like a kids toy or maybe play makeup?
what are your thoughts on vanilla lace?

The Lost Sister

Since you guys seemed to like my pig-girl picture (I found my people 🙏🏻🫂)I felt like I need to share more of my fleamarket picture collection.

If anyone could date the picture and maybe give their opinions on if the one girl was by accident or willfully censored I’d be more than happy to hear your thoughts!

Not sure what is going on, but this interesting picture was laying forgotten on the floor of a fleamarket

What made you believe & what would you advice someone who *wants* to believe?

Hi everyone! ♡

I am a natural born skeptic, but an optimistic skeptic.
As many others I can’t believe what I haven’t seen, heard or encountered, but I really want to.
I wouldn’t mind taking the risk of trying things like the ouija board, and of course I’d take safety measures just in case.

The closest thing that comes to mind when talking about my own/shared experience somewhere on the unexplainable/paranormal spectrum is:

  1. Around 10 years ago a friend and I were taking a selfie and a third face was in the corner on her shoulder. It does look creepy and we obviously were afraid af, but nothing ever came after this so it’s just like 🤷🏼‍♀️. Maybe I never experienced anything else because the thing was close to her rather than me?

  2. My boyfriend had a very eerie experience when he had his first lucid dream (he told his sister that he knows that he’s dreaming right now, her face started to melt and contort. I don’t know all the details and I don’t even know if he remembers everything, but I never saw him like that like the day after, he was truly shaken. And after googling we just found out to never tell when you know, that you’re dreaming.)

  3. Manifesting through Subliminals, while I’m not *really* spiritual, it’s somehow always working for me and I won’t question that, lol.

4 . As a kid I used to see shadow „people“ (mostly animals), I know that many kids do and that there are *logical* explanations but I still can’t seem to let go of that.

A thing I remember clearly is seeing squirrels running around my parents bedroom, climbing up the chairs, bedframe, closet … I wasn’t more confused than scared, they were cute lol.
A rather scary one was when I saw a girl lounging on my chair, staring at me with a unnatural big grin, her arm leaned on her knee and her foot dangling.
If the chair was in the corner of my room I would be able to console myself more, but it was right in front of me, maybe 3meter away from my face, so it should’ve been easier to see that it’s just an illusion lol.

So, coming backt or the title:
what change your mind and how can I experience any kind of paranormal thing for myself?

Fake Draculaura?

Hi everyone! ♡
I thrifted this Draculaura a while ago because I wanted to start with ooak/restyling, and I was a little confused about her fixed arms, I only know MH Dolls with movable joints.
I looked for her on the MH collector site but couldn’t find her (I mean in the ocean of Drac dolls there is a possibility that I just didn’t see her :D)

But yeah, I am very curious, I also LOVE her face with the heart on her eyes 🥹

what are your favourite movies that use time as the monster/creature/threat?

When I recently watched Lake Mungo it clicked,
I finally knew what kind of horror subcategory I am into: time being part of the entity.

Lake mungo and The haunting of hillhouse utilised that so well and I do need much more movies with this plot point - so what are your favs ?

diary of an untrained nose - new project: scent diary.☁️

I’ve been interested in perfume for quite some time, and decided to take it more seriously as a hobby and actually *learn* about scents -
I have a very untrained nose and just bought random perfumes I kinda liked, kinda disliked and just said „that’s alright, I mean that’s part of collecting!“
But I saw @/shelly.has.notes collection and approach [many samples, but only buying full bottles of the ones you REALLY like] and felt inspired:
that’s how I want to learn about fragrances and it’s also much more accessible [1. i don’t have the money to buy every full bottle I come across 2. I don’t have a perfumery near me to regularly go to and smell perfumes.]

As i want to be a little craftier I decided to make a scent diary, where i write little notes about scents i tried [bought a big load of samples] to try and understand how notes work, deciphering fragrances, and widen my knowledge little by little.
It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing thing, but it’s fun and helps me with really sitting with a scent.
I’m taking the time to get into it;
reading, writing and smelling, only being focused on one scent at a time.

I already said, I have an untrained nose, but I see the first slow progression!
I am very bad with distinguishing, describing and generally knowing florals, but I think I’m slowly able to tell when a perfume has orange blossom in it!:D

I want to look back in a few years and compare how I rated and understood perfume when I didn’t had the words for what I wanted to say or the knowledge of what was actually happening in my nose.
I am so happy and excited for this project!

asking the EU scentheads - where do you get US only scents?

I really want to sample dandelion butter from clue and get my hands on fresh cream warm cashmere from philosophy - i won’t even start with bath and bodyworks bodymists or dove shower gel - but they’re only available in the US.🥲

any advice on how I can get those?

is someone looking to sell their (used) scents? ♡

just bought my first bottle on vinted (lychee & rose) and I want to try as many scents as possible! :)
for blind buys I prefer second hand shopping so I was wondering if someone is maybe cleaning out their collection and willing to sell via vinted. ♡

weirdgirl media subreddit?

I don’t know if this is allowed here, but I would loooove a weirdgirl media subreddit, I couldn’t find one, and I‘d think many here would love that too. I‘m mostly a fly on the wall and not as active, but I really love this subreddit and think something with a broader theme as a sister subreddit would be great!

I myself am too busy to create and moderate a subreddit, but maybe someone might be inspired by this post?

please help me name my male character!

Hi!
I’m writing a story, mostly for myself, and while I’ve got all names down, i can’t find a name of for my male main character.
His Lastname is Parker, I chose a Name that works as a first- & lastname to have some ambiguity as he’s called Parker by most people.
I distinguish his relationships by the way he gets addressed - but for that I also need a first name, lol.
Since I plan to show the different relationships through the way he gets called it would be great if the name had an abbreviation as a Nickname.
It doesn’t have to be too extraordinary, but I would prefer something with a nice ring to it, it can sound like a character rather than a real person and I would love something memorable.
My first pick was Dorian, but I don’t like that anymore.

To describe him: he’s in his late 20s and in the great scheme of society a loser, more on the gloomy side, but mostly neutral/not big on emotions, adventurous (but not exactly in a fun way), has that tired-malnourished-rockstar'esque look, rests on the fact that he has a troubled past, and in doing so, (unconsciously) evades responsibility, is a bit wreckless and bold by nature.
