Grubby Goblins - Commander (The Great Goblin)
Looking for feedback on my B2 [[The Great Goblin]] EDH deck
I'm looking for feedback on my The Great Goblin EDH deck. My regular pod tends to work pretty closely within the technicalities of the Commander brackets, so I'm trying to build a “stinky” B2 The Great Goblin deck — basically as strong and annoying as I can make it while staying within the spirit and restrictions of B2.
Obviously no Game Changers, and I'm also avoiding two-card combos. Three-card-or-more combo lines are fine.
The main wincons I'm currently looking at are:
- Persist loops
Using creatures such as [[Murderous Redcap]] or [[Putrid Goblin]], combined with a +1/+1 counter enabler such as [[Metallic Mimic]], [[First Day of Class]], or [[Thran Vigil]], and a sacrifice outlet/payoff such as [[Goblin Bombardment]], [[Sling-Gang Commander]], or [[Phyrexian Altar]].
- Kiki-Jiki lines
I'm also running [[Kiki-Jiki mirror breaker]] combo lines with [[Conspicuous Snoop]] [[Goblin recruiter]] and [[necrotic ooze]], again making sure they require additional pieces rather than being simple two-card combos.
The goal is basically to make the deck as powerful and “stinky” as possible without crossing the B2 line.
I'd love feedback on:
- Cards I'm missing
- Best B2-legal combo/engine pieces
- Cards that look good but are actually too slow
- Ways to make the deck more resilient
- Any particularly obnoxious interactions that fit the restrictions
- Potential cards that might technically be legal but feel like they're against the spirit of B2
If anyone has experience with The Great Goblin specifically, I'd especially appreciate suggestions for making the deck as degenerate as possible while still being able to legitimately say “it's B2!” 😂
I'll post the current list below.
