Creaking frames

I just got my pair - Gooding M - and my frames creak every time there is movement, and it's really starting to wear on me. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there anything that helped?

Rothy’s gift card

hi! I have a Rothy’s gift card that is worth $340+ and I’d like to sell it for cash. Would anyone here be interested? I made a return and was given store credit on a gift card - am going to grad school so decided to save the cash if I can!

First-time solo backpacking in Yosemite - thoughts on itinerary?

Hi! It'll be my first time solo backpacking beyond 2D1N and planning my own Yosemite itinerary. Thoughts? Any tips?

  • Day 1: Climb Yosemite Falls trail, camp near Yosemite Point or Eagle Peak (
  • Day 2: Traverse east along the rim toward North Dome, camp in the North Dome area
  • Day 3: Descend via the North Dome trail down to Mirror Lake

I'm car-free, and planning to take the Amtrak + YART into Yosemite Valley the day before, and catch the shuttle to the trailhead, and then from Mirror Lake back to camp. Any weather issues in late May?

Thank you all in advance!

Notion for personal life management and Obsidian for work/grad school?

Does anybody have the same set-up? I tried to use Obsidian for personal project management but found that Notion's tools were more well-suited and visually compelling (which helps me go back to and use the system tbh). Will still be using Obsidian for my PhD research tho!

Zephyr - Stopping in Truckee or Grand Junction

hi everyone! I’ll be taking the Zephyr from Emeryville to Chicago for the first time in June. thinking of stopping at Truckee or Grand Junction but for budget and time purposes I’m trying to choose one! I’m going for easy access to the outdoors, won’t have a car and would love public transport options, a comfortable environment for meeting people but also feeling safe going on solo hikes. I love a lake swim but also heard Tahoe and Donner might be too cold in June.

Amtrak Stopover Ideas - No Car

Hi! I'm thinking of stopping for 2 nights in Grand Junction, as I take the Zephyr from California to Chicago. Will it be feasibly to get out to hikes without a car here?

has anyone had experiences with the public healthcare system in Melbourne? I’ve been recommended the Royal Women’s Hospital, Mercy Hospital for Women and Monash systems.

Also open to getting private insurance tho my 12 month waiting period will apply to both

Had a consult with Dr Nezhat in California yesterday. The clinic said that there would be no colorectal surgeon present, despite the fact that I have rectal involvement, as he is experienced enough to do it himself. Is that a red flag?

Hi everyone! I’m deciding on whether to get laparoscopic surgery before a big international move (US-Australia), and will have 6-8 weeks to recover.

i know this is a personal and medical decision, but was hoping to hear about your recovery journeys, and if you might have been up to this move, which I’d be doing alone, 6-8 weeks after your surgery.

And for additional context, I’ll need to have an ovarian dermoid cyst removed, as well as bowel shaving and rectal/vaginal resection - if that gives an idea of the extensiveness of surgery.
