how to stay fit in foreign country with no gym

hey im going to be living in a foreign country for two months basically, and there is no public gym in the area. im living in a small town and the only gym is private, small, and for men. I usually lift 5x a week, how can I maintain muscle? i still walk a lot and im open to running a little (but I probably won’t that much since it is hot and i am a girl)

hey guys i am going to rush at FSU in the fall. there’s a large amount of people doing it and i feel pretty prepared but does anybody have any tips or suggestions for rush? or just things in general to know about sororities/greek life at FSU? i don’t have many connections, I heard theres like no hazing for sororities though which is good. im still a little nervous about the process and what it looks like past initiation so if anybody could share anything helpful that would be WIDELY appreciated. also is dry week during rush a thing? not a problem if it is but i want to be sure because ik it isn’t at ucf

my personal transformative glow up tips part 2

hi again, thank you for all the love and support on the first post! i got plenty of requests for a part two so i thought i would make one that encompasses other topics of beauty that i didn't discuss in my first post. hope you enjoy!!

makeup
- i quit using foundation. it just melts off in the heat (im from florida) or it just gets all patchy. good skin prep and skin care will do wonders.
- minimal concealer. just sleep, eat healthy, and use eyebag patches if needed.
- i quit mascara and just use a small light brown c curl 12 lash extension at the end. i get panda eyes easy so focusing on growing my lashes with castor oil reduced the need for mascara anyway.
- liquid products change the game. use liquid blush and set with powder blush. i still use powder contour & bronzer though. except for my nose i mix both
- copy makeup styles you like on other women, but adjust to fix your features. not every style looks good on everyone, but try doing what you like in a way that suits you. ultimately applying your perception of beauty and what you like on others will boost your confidence
- lip tint always before lip combo. i use flora benetint. do two applications at the least.
- BROW GEL!!!!
- always bring some small version or a little bit of makeup with you for touch ups. ill curl my lashes anywhere in public idgaf.
- use a mini alcohol wipe to clean your lash curler pleasseee
- clean your brushes and sponges at least after two months

clothes
- wear colors and styles that suit your body type and won't make you feel insecure in public
- layer up
- go thrift for jeans. you don't even need to buy your exact waist size, button adjustors and belts help a lot. i still don't know my waist measurement because i haven't bought jeans in so long.
- pinterest is ur bff, curate the vibe and energy you want your outfit to give. wear stuff that reflects you as a person
-always color combo match throughout the ENTIRE outfit. don't fuck up the whole fit by wearing weirdly colored shoes or bracelets/necklaces that don't match

bras/underwear
- can't believe i wasn't taught this sooner but have at least 3 bras:
one that looks nice for your chest in tank tops or lower cut shirts (like a form fitting push up, something that fully embraces and shapes your chest),
one that is good for t-shirts or high neck shirts (form fitting, but not fully shaping you),
and one that doesn't have any insane support (like a bralette) for big shirt chill days.
- seamless underwear always for leggings or tighter jeans/pants
- match your underwear to your skin tone for white or more see through bottoms

jewelry
- have your jewelry match your color palette
- layer bracelets and rings(not too much though)
- colored/beaded bracelets are kinda tacky. stick to metal bracelets and layer them it looks10x more chic
- small watches are nice, also use a metal one not an apple watch (or get a band that is metal)
- smaller necklaces for more detailed tops, bigger ones for plainer tops
- if you're wearing necklaces or earrings with pearls or diamonds, try having bracelets that you wear with those incorporated

personality/how you interact with the world
- be kind! talk to a lot of people. show interest in people's lives more than your own. ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to put yourself out there a little. don't fear their perception of you and see it as a way of you ego boosting them/giving them more power, because most of the time they'll appreciate you and not see you that way anyway
- smile often, crack little jokes and make references
- have good posture and maintain eye contact always in conversations
- ask people to expand on the topic they're talking to you about and give advice where needed
- talk to people u wouldn't necessarily find yourself gravitating to. being friends or acquaintances with all types of people from diff backgrounds will help you learn more about yourself, the world, and even more beauty tips.

these tips aren't as niche/really focused as the last one but i hope it could be helpful in some way anyway! some of these are pretty obvious but i learned a little late LOL

my personal glow up tips that entirely transformed me

hi! i read a lot of tips online and i'm always looking to self improve. however i thought i'd contribute a bit of what i've learned already throughout the past 3-ish years of self improvement that has RADICALLY changed my appearance. hope you enjoy!

some background info- i used to be pretty ugly, got bullied a lot, insane acne, a bit more chubby than skinny-fat, greasy hair, bad outfits, etc. i saw a beautiful girl on Pinterest and copied her makeup routine and then got really into learning more how to improve. so this is what i've learned that helps me the most.

brows/lashes:
- take a spoolie, and use castor oil on it and apply to your lashes and brows. let it sit for 30min-couple hours before washing off. it helps with growth, and its natural! i used to use babelash which works well, but it triggered ezcema around my eyes and brows... and honestly the castor oil works so much better!

- PLEASE shape your eyebrows. pluck around it, and in between. make the shape very prominent. brush up your brows and use scissors to trim them. make it so when you wear brow gel they look sharp.

- speaking of brow gel, use brow gel. it makes you not have to worry about them throughout the day

skincare:
- use DERMATOLOGY products. go to a dermatologist. get prescribed something that actually works. over the counter skincare doesn't usually work well (for me at the least). i used to have insane forehead acne and blackheads in my nose. i use tretinoin (strength 0.05%) at night, and clindamyasin in the morning on my forehead and any spot i break out.

- for glowy skin, i swear by the Rhode glazing milk. i just added this into my routine in march and it really refreshes my skin. pairing with sunscreen will hydrate and glow your skin too, and it also helps with makeup application. i also live in Florida and get exposed to a lot of sun, and it helps rejuvenate dry sun-exposed skin.

- EAT LESS PROCESSED FOODS + SUGAR! this made all the difference. no amount of skincare can fully block out a bad diet. when i used to eat lots of processed foods & things with added sugars i would break out more often. now i barely eat it, and sometimes if i do my face will immediately break out the next day. plus it makes your face more puffy.

- use q-tips after your shower to pop small whiteheads/blackheads. my mom taught me this and after a hot shower, just clean out your nose, and any other small spot on your face that could turn into a bad pimple. its very preventative. don't press too hard with the q-tips and tear your skin though! if you have a really bad pimple that's hard to get out, use a lancet (small disposable needle), squeeze out with q-tip until the core is out, wash it out with antibacterial soap, and put a small circle band-aid on.

- use eye patches after a hangover or a night of bad sleep. they're not entirely preformative and they do help.

lips/teeth:
- use a toothbrush and scrub the dead cells off your lips. you could also use a sugar scrub. apply a good aquaphor or lip mask after.

- brush your teeth, use a waterpik after every meal, floss your teeth, use whitening mouthwash for 15 secs. bleach your yellow teeth. wear your retainer every night. make sure you brush your teeth before washing your face so you don't leave toothpaste residue on your face.

diet/exercise:
- aim for 10k steps a day. i average 15-20k per day. it's not hard to reach if you make the time for it. walk circles in your room or house if necessary. get a walking pad (i'm on mine typing rn)

- lift heavy and have good form. build your way up in weights, don't ego lift. try to get all the muscle groups in a week. hit abs every other day.

- if you have lifelong digestive issues like me, this is a weird hack. use the bathroom before eating your meal. DO NOT DRINK WATER WHEN EATIING! chew your meal and eat it slow and focus on not stressing. after your meal, drink a cup of water or two while standing up. this helps me use the bathroom. (very effective when paired with morning hot black coffee or a yogurt chia bowl)

- eat clean mostly. 3 meals a day, smaller portions, low sugar, whole foods but some processed (can't give up my sugar free maple syrup sorry)

- don't overdo it with intense cardio. it'll make you hungrier and more tired. i used to do an hour of incline speed walking and then wonder why my hormones were so off and why i would crash in the day and live in dread and misery LMAOOO. now i just focus on lots of steps.

haircare:
- wash every other day. if you have dandruff please buy a dandruff shampoo. 2x shampoo and 1x condition ends from ears down.

- use castor oil in your hair the day after using a heat tool to rejuvenate your hair. use heat protectant before blow drying. i use a Moroccan oil one, it's really light and smells great.

- after you wash your hair, let your hair sit in a towel for an hour and air dry for 15 minutes before blow drying upside down. it'll give you more volume, and less blow drying time. also blow dry your left and right sides of your head against the other side at the root for more volume. mousse paired with this helps too if you're planning on needing a lot of lift for a blowout.

- my preference is to wash my hair in the afternoon/night, and i don't touch it until the next morning after drying. no fingers running through it or nothing, it keeps it clean and in shape.

body care:
- use a good smelling body wash and try to pair your body lotion scent to your body wash. make sure you wash your ankles. immediately after getting out of the shower, dry yourself with a towel and put lotion on instantly. this will lock it in for smooth skin.

- use a sugar scrub before shaving. you can make them easily at home as well! i started making mine and its so good.

nails:
- grow out your natural nails if possible. mine are extremely long and it's so much cheaper to maintain. i have been doing this since middle school and it's saved me a lot of money.

- file your nails into a shape that helps them not break. mine are oval/almond shape. make sure the sides of your nail are filed pretty straight. file as soon as you detect small breakage.

- use a natural nail strengthener under any polish. it is your bullet proof vest under your dress (your nail polish). i use an OPI one, but the LA girls calcium builder is great too.

- always wear nail polish. it protects your nails and just looks classy and chic. natural long nails can be scary looking sometimes without color. use a base coat, two layers of polish and a top coat. replace every 1-2 weeks or when damaged.

- cuticle oil makes your nails grow faster and your cuticles more healthy. trim your cuticles as well

lmk if you want a part two with makeup and other tips! just thought i'd share 😄
