5 month old, titanium-grade, continuous cycle of bump

Hi everyone! I really need your advice :) I’ve been having issues with my second lobes recently and it’s been 5 months since i’ve had them done. I’ve been maintaining them by downsizing them, using the Neil-Med Saline Solution spray, using titanium-grade jewellery and not sleeping on them.

However, my second lobe piercing on my right ear has been very irritable lately. Every so often it creates a fluid like bump but goes down and crusts. It drys the skin around the piercing and leaves a raised bump in that same area (not noticeable unless you touch it). When it gets inflamed/irritated the bump looks like there is fluid inside it, not sore or painful just a pretty bad bump to look at. But when it dries out and I clean it, it scabs so there’s
minor fluid and blood when cleaned. I do run and go to the gym almost everyday so obviously sweat tends to build up causing the lobe to possibly irritate due to that factor as well. I do dry my ear using my hair dryer with the cold setting on to dry the lobe every time I clean it or get it wet.

I went to the my piercer about 3 weeks ago and she had mentioned that due to the shape of my ear, it’s very prone to catching a-lot of moisture when not dried properly. But, no matter how many times I dry my ear like I said using my hair dryer, the bump keeps coming back. I’m also curious to see if I’m allergic to the jewellery. Mentioned above, I use titanium-grade flat back studs and titanium is known to be used medically. Considering that my left ear is completely fine (no bumps, no crusties etc.) I wonder if it’s just my right ear that’s reacting differently to the material. I would like to preface that my lobe is not showing any signs of infection: pain, swelling, puss or soreness. I really do not want to retire this piercing after months of taking care of it, I really don’t know what’s going on.

🧷 It’s currently dried up and crusting but minor blood and fluid does come out when cleaned.

I will be going to my piercer soon to but I’d love to get some advice about this and see what you guys think. I’d really appreciate it!

How to get rid of stubborn piercing bumps?

Hey everyone, I really need some advice on a stubborn piercing bump that just won't clear up.
I got my lobe pierced 4 months ago, and I'm wearing a high-quality, titanium-grade, flat-back stud and have gotten it downsized since I got the piercing. Despite doing everything by the book, I have a raised bump right on the piercing site that refuses to go away. It’s on both ears but my right lobe is more stubborn than my left lobe.

My current routine:
- Clean it twice a day with NeilMed piercing fine mist wash.

- Shower daily (sometimes a full body wash, sometimes keeping my hair dry), but I always dry my ears immediately afterward.

- I use my hair dryer to make sure the area is completely dry after cleaning/showering.

- For sleeping: I got used to sleeping on my back after getting my second lobe piercings done. However, to be absolutely safe, I actually clip a large claw clip into my hair on the right side of my head to completely block me from rolling onto that ear, since I just got a helix piercing on that same side about 3 weeks ago.

The symptoms & context: The bump leaks fluid most of the time when I clean it. It is currently peak humidity where I live, so I have a strong feeling this might actually be a moisture bump rather than an irritation bump, especially since the flat-back might be trapping that humid air and fluid against my skin.

Interestingly, I went back to my piercer two weeks ago to get my helix done. She noticed that the tissue in my helix area is actually softer than my lobes and suggested my helix might actually heal better than my lobes did (not sure if that tissue difference explains why my lobe is struggling so much, but figured I'd mention it!).

I feel like I'm doing everything right with the titanium jewelry and sterile saline, but I can't seem to get rid of this thing. How can I finally get rid of it and get it to flatten out? Thank you!

Prayer for exam results

Hi everyone! So I’ve been worrying about the credits that I need to progress into my final year of college. These credits are given through exams that I’ve done and I’ve been so anxious about getting them because I don’t know how well I did. I’ve been so burnt out and stressed out but I know that God has a plan greater than what I can ever imagine.

I’d really appreciate your prayers as I receive my results this month. May God bless you all 🤍

Should I be worried.

Hi everyone! I got my second lobe piercings done a little over two months ago. The healing initially went well, but after about a month, the surgical steel jewelry started irritating my eczema. I went to a piercer and had them swapped out for implant-grade titanium flat-backs, which completely calmed my skin down. I then went back to my normal routine of cleaning them with sterile saline solution.

However, yesterday at the gym, I noticed my ear felt a bit sore to the touch. I was wearing overhead headphones, and it felt pretty uncomfortable with the padding pressing over that part of my ear. When I carefully checked my lobe, I felt a raised, firm bump right next to the piercing (not directly on the hole itself, but right beside it). It feels like an under-the-skin pimple, and I can feel the mass from both the front and the back of my earlobe.

I’m really worried that this is going to ruin the piercing or turn into something worse. Has anyone experienced this? Any advice on how to get it to go away would be amazing! (hopefully you can see the raised bump in the picture)

Can you please pray for me?

Hi everyone. I’ve been really sick with the flu lately, and with exams happening right now, I’ve been incredibly stressed and overwhelmed. It feels like the stress is actually keeping me from getting better.

Because of my cough and sore throat, my voice is completely gone. To make matters worse, I have a one-on-one oral exam this coming Tuesday with my lecturer to discuss class topics. I am so stressed thinking about how I’m going to manage this with little to no voice.

Any prayers for healing, recovery, and peace of mind would be deeply appreciated right now.
I hope you are all doing well, and may God bless you all! 🤍

How to calm nervous system?

Hey everyone,

So I’ve been on my year abroad since August of 2025 and I’m so happy to be able to come out of my comfort zone when doing new things. But I can’t help it to always be fight or flight mode in many situations. I feel like my nervous system is always in that mode no matter what I do whether it be going to a new place alone, going out with friends, meeting new people etc.

Is there anything that I can do to help me calm my nerves system and make myself more calm in situations. Any advice would be appreciated :)

Edit: Just to clarify I live quite far from the city as I personally chose to live closer to the university to prevent cancelled transportation etc. It’s quite isolated from neighbourhoods/facilities like grocery shops, restaurants etc. The nearest supermarket is a few stops away by tram. I usually go out with friends if it’s late at night and when we need to go home we all go home in one taxi but I’m usually the last one to be dropped off. I live alone but the accommodation that I live in is an appartement complex and there’s other students living in the building.

Hey everyone, I was chatting with my dad earlier about a family friend’s son. He’s starting his first year of college this September and he’s looking into the SUSI grant, but they aren’t sure if he’s actually eligible to apply.

The situation is:

  1. He is not an Irish citizen.
  2. The family are legal residents with residence/work permits.
  3. They’ve been living here for 4 years I believe.

Does anyone know if you can apply for SUSI as a legal resident without citizenship? Or does he need to have been here for a specific number of years first?
Would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar boat or knows the specific rules for non-EU/EEA residents. Thanks!

Hi all, lately I’ve been feeling very anxious and my mind has been non-stop overwhelmed and overthinking about various different things. I feel very heavy, stressed and overwhelmed all the time now. I think it’s also because of exams, finals and life in general mixed together. I feel like i’m radiating this negativity onto my family especially my parents which I don’t want at all. It’s been hard to function each day with this exhausting energy and feeling.

I would greatly appreciate if you could pray over my family and I, to relieve us from the anxieties of life. I know God will never leave us astray. I would love if there were any prayers for this and for exams/education. May God bless you all 🩷
