[Setlist Thread] 2026-08-15 - Campout in the Pines, Eau Claire, WI

We’ve reached the final day of the Dogs’ three-night jaunt through Wisconsin, and the end of a larger four-night trek that started on Wednesday in Davenport and concludes tonight in Eau Claire. Those who attended or streamed last night’s show in Milwaukee got treated to a real heater, and that energy is expected to continue out in northwestern Wisconsin as the Dogs wrap up this week and prepare for a few weeks off the road.

Campout in the Pines got its start at The Pines Music Park when the manager for the Blue Ox Music Festival wanted to put together smaller camping excursions with multiple evening concerts closing out the day - a sort of stripped-down festival with equal focus on outdoor activities and music. The first iterations of the event were held back when capacity restrictions dictated smaller crowds in 2021, and they brought back the name last year with The String Cheese Incident serving as the headliners for the re-established fest.

It feels like the Cheese are among the masters in the jam world at booking destination events, and the Dogs have regularly supported the Colorado-based band for several jam excursions in the past. That link really got its start (or was at least cemented) in Sep. 2024 when the Dogs played two sets at Bender Jamboree and supported SCI for two nights at Wonderland Forest a few weeks later. The Dogs would go back to Vegas with the Cheese the following year, and it’s been good vibes ever since.

Lettuce opens the show today at 6 PM, and you get two sets of SCI at 8. The Dogs come on for a two-hour late night set starting at 11:30. The band was originally supposed to be back on stage at Oregon Ridge Park for Hot August Music Festival next weekend, but the cancellation of that fest means that they’ll get some additional time off before the start four more days of shows on Labor Day weekend.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2024-09-13 - Las Vegas, NV - One of two shows the Dogs performed at Bender Jamboree ‘24, this show took place on the pool deck during the day as a bonus set for attendees. The band took the environment in stride, and themed their set around The Hangover soundtrack. An essential listen, and has four cover FTPs that still haven’t been played since!

  • 2024-09-28 - Lafayette, NY - One part opening set, one part silent disco closing set, this show took place during SCI’s two-night run at Wonderland Forest. The Dogs got everyone dancing before Cheese, but the real meat of this one comes in the second set, which went down in the late evening after SCI wrapped up two sets of their own. The band performed this set as a silent disco as a way to circumvent local evening noise restrictions, and produced - in my opinion - the best Hesitate to date.

[Setlist Thread] 2026-08-14 - Turner Hall Ballroom, Milwaukee, WI

The Dogs are at the halfway point of a three-night run through Wisconsin as we inch ever closer to the end of summer tour. The band just wrapped up two sets a few hours north in Greenleaf last night (feat. double sammy + a first FTP in the state) and are back in the Mil for seconds at Turner Hill Ballroom.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Milwaukee because they have one of the most ridiculous city flags in the entire country, featuring not one, not two, but three(!!!) entirely different flags on the canvas. I’d wager the Dogs have a soft spot for this place too based on the quality and quantity of shows they’ve has played here in the past few years. The band originally came to Brew City for the first time to play a collection of pre-parties and after-shows during Widespread Panic's run at the Riverside Theater in Fall '22 and came back to headline for the first time in the city two years later.

They’ve been back annually since that show at the Vivarium in November ‘24, and leveled up to the higher-capacity Turner Hall Ballroom operated by the same ownership group last year. This spot was first built in 1882 and has been a fixture in the heart of Milwaukee's downtown ever since. A national landmark right off the shores of the Milwaukee River, the Ballroom sits just across the street from where the Bucks play.

Doors open at 7 PM, and Modern Joey will open the show an hour later at 8. Dogs come on for two sets starting at 9:10. They’ll round off this trip to Wisconsin with the String Cheese Incident at Campout in the Pines in Eau Claire tomorrow night.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2024-06-08 - Yuba, WI - This was the sole Wisconsin representative on 2024's Pigeon/Frasco/Dogs Tour and went down at Driftless Music Gardens during Bonfire Fest. I can't say this 100% for sure, but I seem to have a memory of Inchworm being played because someone in the audience brought out a very well-crafted sign requesting it (regardless, it remains the only time the song was played in Wisconsin). That wasn't the only bust-out, as the band pulled China Cat off the shelf for the first time in 30 shows and also dusted off TDP3 for the first time on PFD Tour. Right after this date the band would head out west for the famous PNW->CO->MT run that is well-represented on Doggie Bag 2.
  • 2025-11-14 - Milwaukee, WI - The band’s last trip to Milwaukee took place alongside their month-long residency at Garcia’s in Chicago during Fall ‘25. The Dogs would play Chicago on Weds/Thurs before venturing to nearby states for shows on Friday and the weekend. This specific night went down during the second week of the residency and coincided with the band's release of the PQP music video (which itself promoted the upcoming release of Distroid). Naturally, Milwook got a smoker of a PQP, not to mention a big dog version of TD2 to spare.

[Setlist Thread] 2026-08-13 - LedgeStone Vineyards & Winery, Greenleaf, WI

After a quick pit-stop in Iowa last night, the Dogs are back on the road up to Wisconsin for the start of a three-night run through the Badger state. The band has regularly travelled through Wisco on tour since '22, and the state can reliably bet on hosting the Dogs around two or three times a year. As you probably expect, Milwaukee's gotten most of the love during that period (with more on the way tomorrow), but it’s finally time for the rest of the state to share in the spotlight this week.

This is the band's first time on record in Brown County - the farthest north they've played in Wisconsin to date. Greenleaf is a small village (pop. 607) off the beaten path north of Lake Winnebago between Appleton and Green Bay. It’s a place so small they didn’t even bother putting anything on their “About Us” page on the website they share with the nearby town of Wrightstown!

Like several other venues the band has booked this tour, tonight’s host primarily acts as a vineyard and event space “tucked amongst the Niagara Escarpment, where time seems to stand still and the wine and beer flow.” Sounds like Wisconsin to me! They host free live music on Wednesdays and Fridays during the summer, with Thursdays being reserved for ticketed shows for nationally touring acts as part of their Wine Down Summer Concert Series.

Doors open pretty early at 3 PM if you want to take a stroll around the grounds - the venue recommends arriving by 4:30. The site says music starts at 6, but the show’s going to get underway at 5:45 to accommodate TWINE as the opener. Two sets of Dogs that are scheduled to start at 7:15.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2023-09-06 - Madison, WI - The Dogs had previously been out to Wisconsin for three shows in Fall '22 centered around WSP's trip out to Milwaukee, but this date during Fall '23 in Madison is the earliest soundboard we have available from the state. To this day, there are many who still stand by this It Gets Better as the band's best. At 22:24, it’s still the longest rendition of the tune today (unless last night in Davenport truly went into outer space!)

  • 2024-11-15 - Milwaukee, WI - This night at the Vivarium in Milwook was my first and only Wisco Dogs show to date. I vividly remember how cool the venue looked with the band’s light rig constantly bouncing off the plants hanging from the ceiling over the pit. This took place during the smoking Fall ‘24 tour right after the debut of Burning Daylight (played for the 2nd time at this show) and the day before the band would play Chop Shop for the first time. Also featured: a rare cover of Phil Collins’ In the Air Tonight.

[Setlist Thread] 2026-08-12 - Redstone Room, Davenport, IA

The Dogs just threw it down in their hometown on The Stone Pony Summer Stage and fall dates are continuing to trickle in, but there’s still some business to attend to this summer. Tonight marks the start of a hectic four-night run through the Hawkeye and Badger states in the upper midwest.

Most of this week’s shows are scheduled in Wisconsin, but this Wednesday night in Iowa has the distinction of being the 30th of this summer tour. Iowa’s been the recipient of one Dogs show a year since the Dogs made their debut in the state during the ‘23 Winter Rescue Tour on a trip through Iowa City. They swung back 11 months later to support Andy Frasco & The U.N. in Des Moines, and played tonight’s venue for the first time the following year in Davenport.

The Redstone Room is the primary venue operated by Common Chord, a local non-profit focused on getting affordable shows out to the masses in Scott County (you might know the org by its old moniker, “River Music Experience”). They do free shows out in the courtyard during the summer, and ticketed shows indoors at the Redstone Building on main street. When the Dogs were last here, the Redstone Room was on the second floor of the building, but the venue is in the middle of a multi-million dollar move to the first floor for more space and accessibility. The official grand opening celebrating the the new digs happens next week, and today’s show is the final concert hosted on the second floor before the move is complete!

Instead of the opener+one set format the band played in '25 at this spot, it'll be two unaccompanied sets of Dogs tonight. Doors open at 7 and Dogs get on stage at 8. Three nights across Wisco due up Thursday/Friday/Saturday.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2023-03-02 - Iowa City, IA - The Dogs' first trip out to Iowa unfortunately coincided with the passing of Wayne Shorter, one of the most celebrated modern jazz performers and a Jersey native. The band honored him by playing Footprints for the first time, in the middle of a lengthy sequence that ended with a great Spun for the tour.

  • 2025-02-05 - Davenport, IA - This was the band's last trip to Iowa during Winter Tour '25, immediately following their two-night run at Cervs but before they set sail on Jam Cruise. It's been a minute since I checked this one out but I remember the one-two punch of Tillie/Applesauce being very good!

[Setlist Thread] 2026-08-08 - The Stone Pony Summer Stage, Asbury Park, NJ

We’ve reached the start of the final month of the Dogs’ 2026 Summer Tour. This season of the Dogs got its start in Big Sky territory before bringing the party out for two long runs of shows on opposite coasts and a busy set of bookings in the Rocky Mountains. Things have been comparatively quiet in the two weeks since Taos if we’re talking purely “Dogs,” but the members have kept themselves busy with Murray’s Law, a wedding party, and sit-in appointments with Dobbs’ Dead. The band proper is now set to finally close off this remainder of this tour with a set of nine gigs mostly centered around the Midwest. It’s not all heartland shows though - the Dogs have a couple evenings bookending the Midwest focus in home territory, and we’re kicking things off tonight in good ol’ Asbury Park.

The Dogs' annual shindig on the Stone Pony Summer Stage has become the landmark show for the group over the last few years, and it’s not hard to see why. The Stone Pony is in the heart of the Dogs’ local stomping grounds in Asbury Park, and the band has graced the venue’s indoor stage at least 17 times since their debut on the grounds opening for Dark Star Orchestra in 2018. In 2024, the band booked the 4500-cap outdoor Summer Stage for the first time as part of a joint tour alongside Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Andy Frasco. They followed-up that event a year later with their first-ever headlining appearance on the stage around this time last summer, and it’s been THE summer booking for the band ever since.

Gates to the outdoor stage open at 6, but there’s festivities scheduled for the entire afternoon. If you stroll 15 minutes down the north end of the boardwalk from the venue, you’ll find the Dog Pound meetup and pre-party going down from 1 to 5 PM. There you’ll be treated with a two sets of Meraki and offerings from some local DJs. The Stone Pony indoor stage will open up at 4:30, and Philadelphia’s own Reality Check Experiment will play there from 5 to 5:50. The party shifts back outside from there, with the Dogs scheduled for two sets starting at 7 PM. Fungkshui will keep the party going late back inside the Pony when Dogs are done.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2023-12-16 - Asbury Park, NJ - Before they outgrew the venue’s 850-cap indoor stage, the Dogs’ annual trip to the Stone Pony used to take place during the winter months! In 2022, they collaborated with the Ocean Avenue Stompers and Sicard Hollow over two nights, and 2023 featured a similar approach with Adrian and Mihali from Twiddle. u/that1persondancing and I agree that 12/16 feat. Adrian + TDP3 debut was peak for the 2023 run, but you really can’t go wrong with the other night!
  • 2025-08-31 - Asbury Park, NJ - Much like this year’s Summer Stage gig, last year’s also took place a few weeks removed from the band’s big summer run through the Rockies. A homecoming show in the best possible way, this one’s starter guide material and a great entry point for those new to the band.

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-26 - The Mothership, El Prado, NM

The Dogs just put a wrap on five shows in four days in Colorado and are set to close the book on the second portion of their summer tour tonight in New Mexico.

It’s a landmark show for the band in the Land of Enchantment. The Dogs have played this state twice before in the past, but tonight’s gig is their first for a ticketed audience in NM, as well as their first outside of Santa Fe. They first visited New Mexico back during the 2023 Winter Rescue Tour for a free show at Tumbleroot Brewery in the capital before returning last year to perform outdoors in front of the entire city on the Plaza.

This time around you gotta pay to get in the door 90 minutes north of Santa Fe, but it’s going to be worth it! Tonight’s host is the Mothership, one of two properties in Taos County owned by Taos Mesa Brewing. It sits just outside Taos city limits in the unincorporated suburb of El Prado and is revered by locals for its sick shows and incredible views.

There's a big night of music planned - doors open at 6, with Foggy Memory Boys opening the show at 7. Two sets of Dogs (another first for NM!) are on the docket starting at 8:15. Bring your layers, stay hydrated, and sign up for the venue’s message list to get updates about any severe weather-related changes to the itinerary! After this show, the band will get a well-deserved two-week break from touring ahead of their return to the Stone Pony Summer Stage.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2023-02-23 - Santa Fe, NM - The Dogs’ first journey to New Mexico back in 2023 saw the revival of Power Trip for the first time in over four years, and features a monster sequence in the back half that serves as a perfect time capsule of the band's sound that tour.

  • 2025-07-31 - Santa Fe, NM - This was actually the first show I attended of any act in New Mexico and was one of the most memorable stops the band made during their 2025 run through the Intermountain West. This show is particularly notable for its triple-decker Samba sandwich and two big bustouts in King Henry and Riders on the Storm.

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-25 - Arvada Center for the Arts, Arvada, CO

After traveling back and forth through the Colorado mountains over the last three days, the Dogs are set to play their final show in the Centennial State of the year tonight. It’s the band’s first time in both Arvada and Jefferson County, but this spot is close enough to Denver that the Dogs should feel right at home!

There’s not a lot to write home about re: Arvada itself (and that’s coming from someone who lives within walking distance of tonight’s venue). It’s your standard Denver ‘burb, a few exits down the road from the more famous Golden, which you might recognize as the home of Coors Brewing Co. Historically, it had its moment as the Celery Capital of the World, but the veggie fields have since been replaced with single-family homes and your standard American suburban businesses. The city’s current value primarily centers around its proximity to “cool shit you can do in Colorado” - we’re equidistant from mountains, Red Rocks, Boulder, and Denver, which makes it ideal for folks like us that like to roam around the state for music and outdoor activities.

But there’s been a shift recently! Our local Center for the Arts - a gorgeous venue which has historically featured musicals, theater productions, orchestras, and graduations - finally began booking some proper rock and roll earlier this decade. We’ve had some great acts roll through recently: Molly Tuttle swung by a month ago, and Yonder Mountain String Band is due up in mid-August. This show got promoted on our local CBS affiliate, and you can check the Dogs’ interview here.

The show begins at 7:30 and you can expect two sets of Dogs. It’ll be hot so wear sunscreen! Hope to see you there!

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2023-03-29 - Denver, CO - In honor of the band playing right down the street from me, I’ve got to shout out the first Dogs show I ever attended - night one of the band’s month-long residency in Colorado during Spring 2023. It gets overshadowed a bit by 4/5 and 4/19 (with good reason), but still has its charm! This one was particularly unique because the band came on stage one at a time, joining DJ BKellZ, who opened the show. The result was a one-of-a-kind Respect Jam that has to be heard to be believed. The rest of the show got me fully on the bus, and my life hasn’t been the same since!

  • 2026-01-31 - Denver, CO - This was the Dogs’ last show in the front range - an absolute rager at the 1500-cap Ogden on Colfax in downtown Denver. This show capped off the band’s 2026 Winter Tour in an exceptional way, and there are some must-hear sections of nearly every tune performed.

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-24 - Winter Park, CO

It’s been a busy week for the Dogs in Colorado! The band began the Rocky Mountain leg of this tour out in Avon before heading out west to Ridgway on Thursday, and they’re now doubling back towards the Front Range. Arvada is in the band’s sights for Saturday night, but there’s a lot of business to attend to in Winter Park today.

There’s actually two shows on the table for those who made their way back out to Colorado ski country tonight, both centered around the town’s Revel in the Park festival. Not only is the band set to take the main stage of the festival with the Kitchen Dwellers and The Fretliners in the afternoon, but they've also been plucked to headline the after party at Devil's Craft in the evening.

This festival is hosted by Winter Park Resort and will take place at Rendezvous Event Center in the early evening before the excitement shifts a few blocks down the road at Devil’s Craft for a late-night Dogs set. Check the full schedule below, see ya there!

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-23 - Hartwell Park, Ridgway, CO

After a wet one last night in Eagle County, the Dogs are headed out to the Western Slope to grace the Centennial State with another free summer show.

We’re about five hours out from the Front Range in Ridgway (infuriatingly spelled without an “e”). This town is just around an hour and a half south of the Hotchkiss/Paonia area, which hosted the Dogs for a free show around this time last year at Big B’s Delicious Orchards. A fixture of the Ouray County summer since the aughts, the Ridgway Concert Series has been going on for 19 years now. There’s very little to do outside hiking and camping in this part of the state during the summer, so you tend to see locals drive in from all corners of the Western Slope for events like this.

The show’s going down in Hartwell Park, just off the town’s main road in the center of Ridgway. You can bring in low-back chairs, blankets, and tarps, but no shade structures. Dogs, other than the ones on stage, are not allowed. Alcohol is being sold on site, so you can’t bring your own. Like yesterday, there's a chance of rain so bring your layers!

Felix Y Los Gatos opens the show at 6 PM, and two sets of Dogs will follow starting at 7:15. Two shows are on the docket tomorrow in Winter Park, and Arvada rounds out the band’s Colorado offerings for the year on Saturday.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2024-11-06 - Buena Vista, CO - Fall 2024 goodness in Buena Vista. This is the only show on record where the band opened with The OG. It also took place mid-blizzard (hence the Snow Day/Frosty pulls in the setlist).

  • 2025-08-08 - Hotchkiss, CO - This was the band's lone trip out to the Western Slope last year, and a memorable show for me because it's the only time I've heard Men of Steel (to date, the only time it was played in the Mountain Time Zone). That's without mentioning the fact that any show with a No Quarter encore is a certified heater.

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-22 - Avon Pavilion, Avon, CO

Tonight begins the final stretch of the second portion of the Dogs’ 2026 Summer Tour. The band just spent the last week and a half trekking up and down the East Coast, and this week offers a similar back-and-forth through the Rocky Mountains. There’s a total of six shows on the table across the next five days - it’s the start of Dogorado 2026!

First off is the band’s return to both Avon and Eagle County deep in the heart of Colorado winter sports country. This ski town is just about ten minutes from Vail and a half hour down the interstate from Frisco, and if sliding down the mountain isn’t your thing, the summer is the absolute best time of year to visit. The band first swung through this town during February on their 2023 Winter Rescue Tour - part of a brief appetizer for the state before the start of their residency a few months later. They’ve been back to Eagle County every year since, playing The Amp at Vail in ‘24 and Beanstalk out in rural Bond last year.

It’s been pretty customary for the Dogs to play a selection of free shows out in the Rockies every summer, and this year is no exception. Both tonight and tomorrow are taking place during Avon and Ridgway’s respective local free show series. This one is billed as “AvonLIVE! Concerts in the Park,” and will go down right by the lake at Avon Pavilion in Harry A. Nottingham Park. There’s no opener, just two sets of Dogs starting at 6 PM.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2023-02-25 - Avon, CO - This date is actually the earliest Colorado full-show soundboard we have available, and unless the ‘22 Phish Afters surface, it’s probably going to stay that way. It was released a bit after I got on the bus, and it’s one of the earliest shows I can remember listening to over and over again during summer ‘23. Extra credit: the TV promo they did for this date.

  • 2024-06-18 - Vail, CO - The Dogs’ 2024 visit to Eagle County, this night was another free gig held at the beautiful Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre in Vail. This one took place the day after one of my top 5 favorite shows of all time and features one of my favorite second sets of the year.

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-19 - Ocean Mist, South Kingstown, RI

The Dogs will complete a three-night run through coastal New England by making their long-awaited return to Rhode Island tonight, wrapping up a broader East Coast stretch of eight shows in ten days. The intermountain west is on standby for six shows in five days next week (you read that right), and this will be the last time the band plays out east until they return to the Stone Pony Summer Stage in the second week of August.

It’s been nearly four years since the Dogs have played the Ocean State. The last time they were here, Joey was still getting his hands X’d at venues! The band has hit up Rhode Island only twice prior on record for a pair of headlining shows spaced 11 months apart at The Met up in Pawtucket during 2022. The latter of those shows is infamous for being described by Sam as “one of [their] worst ever,” though it’s worth mentioning that I’ve seen the date appear in many heads’ top show lists!

South Kingstown gets the honor of hosting the first Rhode Island Dogs show since that gig and the first outside of Pawtucket. Tonight’s venue, Ocean Mist, is in the village of Matunuck in South Kingstown and bears many similarities to the joint that hosted last night's show in Cape Cod. It's your classic beach bar and restaurant that hosts tons of live music, and was listed by USA Today as one of the nation's best dive bars. Have your ticket ready at 8 PM and be ready for two sets of Dogs starting at 9. Never miss a Sunday show!

  • 2022-01-22 - Pawtucket, RI - The band’s first visit to Rhode Island took place over four years ago, capping off a similar three-night run in New England. It’s got early versions of Tillie (no. 4, debuted eight days prior), Fenway (no. 6, two months), and Crazy (no. 9, three months) if you’re interested in seeing how those tunes have evolved over the years.

  • 2022-11-26 - Pawtucket RI - Worst show ever? I’m not sure about that. Judge for yourself!

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-18 - Beachcomber, Wellfleet, MA

Fresh off their return to Levitt Pavilion in Westport, the Dogs are heading to the outer reaches of Massachusetts for the very first time - stop two of three during this weekend’s run through New England.

Tonight is the Dogs’ 19th show in Massachusetts, but it’s their first time in Cape Cod on record! They’ve played Pembroke (76 mi by car) and Marshfield (73 mi) a combined six times in the past, but the band hasn’t ventured out this far east in the state before.

Beachcomber is a bar and restaurant just off Cahoon Hollow Beach that supposedly caps out at just under 500, as you’d expect in a rural area like this. That doesn’t mean you won’t see a lot of people around - it’s peak tourist season for the Cod. Every time I checked the venue’s beach cam yesterday in preparation for this thread, it looked pretty packed! That might change a bit today, as there’s a strong chance of rain throughout the afternoon. Hopefully Mother Nature will hold off the worst of it so those trekking in from out of town can still get some quality time on the beach.

It’s a late show tonight, doors at 9 PM, one extra large set of Dogs 45 minutes later. Rhode Island wraps up the weekend on Sunday. Have fun!

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2021-07-17 - Pembroke, MA - This isn’t the first time the band performed for Massholes, but it’s the earliest full-show MA soundboard we have available. It’s a classic ‘21 show with some older binned covers like Clint Eastwood, Sunflower, and Julius. It also features the second and final Wake Me Up (Avicii) jam we have on record, and closes things off with a four-track encore. The unique setlist makes this one a must-hear-once, and the show was so good the band came back to this spot four more times in the following three years.

  • 2025-07-12 - Marshfield, MA - This performance at Marshfield Fairgrounds for Levitate Music Festival is the closest the Dogs have ever gotten to Cape Cod in the past. It’s a short listen at 60 min, but it’s a tight show that still deserves your attention.

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-17 - Levitt Pavilion, Westport, CT

The Dogs just wrapped up a brief detour into the south and are now headed back up to the northeast for some quality time in New England. Tonight kicks off a three-show run in as many states, which will see the Dogs take on Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island as summer tour rolls on.

Tonight marks the band's ninth overall show in Connecticut and third-ever show at Levitt Pavilion, their (as of today) most-played venue in the state. The Dogs first came out to these grounds two years ago as an opener on the Pigeons/Frasco/Dogs tour in summer '24 and returned to headline for the first time here last June. That show was eventful for off-the-field reasons, as the band showed up to Westport only to meet a town-wide power outage. Of course the gig went on - you wouldn’t expect anything less from this band. The Dogs ran the show off a generator and delivered a memorable one (pictured above).

Even when Westport is experiencing a blackout, the venue is super cool. It’s a 1400-cap joint with a nice lawn that’s been around since the mid-70s and sits just on the edge of the Saugatuck River. The venue still stands as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has a stated mission to provide ample opportunities for free shows throughout the summer (you could’ve gotten into last year’s show here for free, but band's gotta eat sometime).

There is no opener today. Doors open at 6, with two sets of Dogs startin' at 7. Let's hope this one is only eventful for on-the-field reasons this time! Wellfleet and South Kingstown on deck and in the hole for the weekend.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2024-05-25 - Westport, CT - The Dogs' debut at Levitt Pavilion took place on PFD Tour on the day after their debut on the Stone Pony Summer Stage. That means it typically gets lost in the shuffle, but Way To Bes from summer '24 were hot hot hot and this one is worth your time.

  • 2025-06-20 - Westport, CT - Like ‘24, the generator show was only one set, but the band got double the time on stage during this go-round. It begins with an extensive Stranger (the last time the Dogs opened with the tune) and keeps up the energy throughout. Newer listeners might be surprised to see Rah Rah clock in at only 5:19!

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-15 - 24th Street Park, Virginia Beach, VA

After a four-show journey that took the band from New York to North Carolina, the Dogs are heading back up the East Coast towards familiar grounds. The weekend promises a 3-night stint in the heart of New England, but the band has one more stop to make in the south before returning to the northeast.

Tonight’s booking is a special dual-headlining affair featuring both Dogs and Eggy for the Oceanfront Concert Series in Virginia Beach. These two bands are tight - they previously shared the stage together for a similar dual two-night booking at the Cap in Fall ‘24, and have crossed paths during more festival weekends than I can remember. The show's going down at 24th Street Park, a stage and open space right on the Virginia Beach coastline, right next to the local Surf & Rescue Museum. It looks like most of the other shows during this summer series are being held at the smaller 17th Street Park a few blocks down the road, so I think it's safe to say a larger crowd is expected tonight!

The Dogs, of course, are no stranger to Hampton Roads, but it has been 22 months since they were last in Virginia Beach opening for Frasco at New Realm Brewing - their last and only headlining show in the city was back in October '23 at Elevation 27. Both bands are technically headliners tonight, but someone has to go first: Dogs are batting leadoff at 7 (sun set = best set) with Eggy's set scheduled for 9. Both bands will be out at 10:35 for super-jam, so be sure to stick around even if you're just there for Dogs!

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2023-10-12 - Virginia Beach, VA - The last time the Dogs headlined in Virginia Beach, they delivered mammoth versions of Bring It On Up (longest to date) and It Gets Better, with Battenkill-laced Charlie on the side. This is the one I’m relistening to today!
  • 2024-11-30 - Port Chester, NY - This was the second of the abovementioned two-show booking the Dogs set up with Eggy back in Nov. '24 at the Capitol Theatre. Both nights are fun, but this one has slightly more Dogs on offer (and Bulls on Parade, a personal favorite cover).

[Setlist Thread] 2026-07-13 - Van Hoy Farms, Harmony, NC

EDIT: I fucked up the title my bad! It's 7/14 obviously!

Summer tour rolls on! The Dogs just wrapped up three nights in three states, and they’re back for more of the same this week. Tonight begins a two-show dip into the south which will see the band play North Carolina and Virginia before they return to New England to close out the weekend.

This is the band's first time on record in Harmony (pop. 543), as well as Iredell County, but they’ve played this general area a handful of times in the past. This spot sits in central North Carolina, an hour north of Charlotte and 40 minutes west of Winston-Salem and Lexington, all of which have hosted the band in various capacities during the past three years. NC has been as consistent spot for the Dogs, who have averaged just over five bookings annually in the state since 2022 - tonight is four for ‘26.

Van Hoy Farms is a 100-acre campground with multiple stages and configurations for live music shindigs like tonight’s during the summer. This show is ostensibly part of "Ziggy's Summer Campout Concert Series," and offers three acts of music, swimming, camping, and other excursions. Dogs are the center of this event, though they'll be joined by some special guests who will open and close out the night's festivities. You can arrive as early as 2 PM at the grounds, but no need to rush in too quickly: live music won't start until 6:30 when Natalie Brooke takes the stage. Dogs come on for a two-set sunset show at 8, and Keith Allen Circus will take care of the late night at 11 for those that want to keep the party going.

PRE-SHOW TUNES

  • 2023-09-10 - High Point, NC - This show took place in nearby High Point, and it’s most known for featuring the band’s live debut of Futurama (couched within an epic Charlie on its own merits). I attended the gig before this one and have had to live with the regret of not driving a few hours east to catch this night ever since!
  • 2025-10-30 - Charlotte, NC - The band's 2025 Fall Tour kickoff took place an hour down the road from tonight's venue in Charlotte. It's a jam-heavy show with 7 songs clocking in at over 13 minutes, and features a nice tribute to the late Pierre Robert.
