Does anyone have experience with TTBVI Isolate from Sloreworks?

I haven’t had success yet with this one because I’m learning the ropes of Pans. I’m using Gordo’s recipeI think I’ve done everything right I’ve got some spawn ready to send to a modified version of Gordo’s Tek (I’m adding holes at surface level for more FAE) Hopefully this time I’ll get everything right. 🤞🏽

I’m curious about how quickly this one colonizes the substrate and fruits with properly prepared substrate and well colonized grain so I can think ahead. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

How fast should a TTBVI culture inoculate grain?

I made a liquid culture and inoculated r2 liters rye grain with with 5 CC’ s and I keeping it at 82F/27C.

I expected explosive growth with that amount but it’s been 6 days and I just found 2 tiny white blooms. TTBVI Spores are faster than this.

I reeealy shook up the liquid culture which I felt may have been a mistake. I thought I had to because the mycelium had started consolidating into an agar like disk.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

What is your S2B ratio for a quick flush? NSS Ochra

Is there even such a thing as a “quicker” flush? I overestimated how much spawn I was going to need and I was thinking of doing a 1:1 ratio with horse poop substrate, using Gordotek’s PanCyan method with the screen.

It’s been awhile since I grew NSS Ochras and I remember reading something about too much spawn causing excessive overlay. Am I remembering correctly? If not would a 1:1 ratio potentially get a faster colonization and fruiting?

Is there any reason not to do a 1:1 for my S2B?

What are your recommendations for pressure cooker.

I’m not looking for a huge investment, I’ll only be using it a few times a year. Though if I must spend more to make it easier or some other reason, I’m still interested in what you think.

I’ve had a lot of infection lately so I’m looking for something to get me to 15+ psi for $120 or less.
Less than 24qt is probably preferable to save space, 10 qt would be fine.

Accidental gypsum in casing

I have a bag of casing mix from a couple months ago that I just added to my colonized TTBVI. I don’t remember getting the pickling lime out when I mixed it and I think I used gypsum instead. It should have been peat, vermiculite and pickling lime.

So will gypsum have any detrimental effects on pinning? Should I spray some water with pickling lime onto the surface to adjust ph or let it ride?

Does anyone have experience flipping a stalled P.C. cake?

I have a couple cakes that almost pinned a couple times while I was trying to dial in the FAE and humidity. It’s been 4-5 weeks and they are stalled. No infection yet.

Now that I have good FAE and humidity I’m curious about resetting them so to speak by refrigerating overnight, flipping them in their cake pans and casing them.

It’s been hard dialing in it in with life happening and I have 2 stalled cakes. I’ve been waiting 3+ weeks for it to fruit. It’s been sitting at room temp this whole time and I finally got the time to properly bring it up to around 80 degrees and I want to try to reset it.

I have a bin that has given me some repeat trouble. I soaked overnight with diluted bleach water and wiped it with alcohol and still had trich.

I’m trying to narrow down the possible causes.

I’ve read it’s possible to fruit TTBVI at room temperature, how long-ish does this take for you and what is your humidity setting? after it dried the surface a week ago I can’t bring myself to go lower than 88% but I will go lower if that’s where I need to start.

Ive been waiting on some TTBVI that went S2B the first week of April. I’m not able to keep the temperature higher than 69-74. I keep the humidity between 88-93 % with an automatic fogger. The cakes look healthy with knots littered across the surface, almost but not quite pinning for a week. The Boomrbin lid is cracked and I’m using tree frog’s setup with Vermiculite and cake pans inside. Gordo’s newest substrate recipe.
