What Accounts Should I be Using?

I currently have 5k in a general saver account which gets a few pound of interest every now and then. I opened a stocks and shares ISA which I’ve put 2k in. I did this because I didn’t think I would need a house deposit and was saving for things further ahead in the future, so this made more sense to me than a lifetime ISA.
Currently putting ~£900 into the saver and £100 into the ISA each month. That doesn’t feel right.

Plans have changed and it looks like I will need a house deposit so a LISA seems sensible now.

My question is - should I close the S&S ISA and put all that money into a LISA instead? Or, should I leave the S&S ISA as it is and start my LISA with a few grand from the saver?

Additionally, how should I split up the £1,000 (roughly) I am saving each month between the accounts?

Any help appreciated, not a clue what I’m doing.

Advice for Fake Leather Couch

I’ve had good go at the left side of the couch with some multi purpose cleaning spray and a cloth, and I think it has made a noticeable difference but wondering if anyone has any tips or product recommendations to get it really clean. There is some actual damage to the seats from my old dog who scratched this up when it was my parents, I know I can’t fix that but hoping I can make it look better. There are a lot of bits stuck to it as well, Ive no idea what they are but would appreciate advice on how to get them off without ripping holes in my couch. Not sure what the material is, the couch is inherited and got to be at least 10 years old.

I’m aware the best cleaning advice would be to get the pup off there so no need to inform me of that!!

Gifted Equity Mortgage Advice - Do we need deposit?

Morning all
Just wanting to make sure I understand something.

My parents are wanting to sell us a house. It’s a second house, bought 10 years ago, they have never lived there, partner and I moved in just over two years ago. They will be knocking around 30-40k off the price, which is ~15-20 %

We make more than enough to afford the mortgage payments. Those provisional checks showing we could borrow around 100k more than we would need.

I’ve read online that this would be gifted equity and would count towards the deposit, am I correct in understanding that? Would we need a deposit at all? Would there be any benefit to putting additional money down?

My savings aren’t amazing to be honest, just because I suck as a person but I’m thinking if we are able to buy without a deposit I could hold onto the money, save more and eventually spend it on a (badly needed) new kitchen. I just don’t want to make any plans if this isn’t how it’s actually going to work out. TIA!

First two pics are my kitchen now, last pic is the photo of the kitchen from when it was sold. basically it was gutted because the house wasn’t being lived it but now we’ve been living here for two years and I’m wondering if there’s a way we can do this better. Old kitchen had an oven but no fridge or freezer, ours has the fridge & freezer but no oven which I’m fine with.

Does anyone have any ideas on A) How I could organise the kitchen differently to use my space better or B) Is it worth tearing everything out and doing a full re-fit?

Obviously, my pictures are very lived-in and the estate agent’s are not, a fair amount of the clutter is necessary for day to day and as you can see not tonnes of storage space to hide stuff. Some of it is just because I haven’t been able to clean much due to personal circumstances.

▲ 246 r/Maltese

My little maltese x yorkie Sally has just fabulous colouring. She has black ears and a black tail, with a white chest and we really love her main colour which … I’m not sure what to call it! Kind of a strawberry blonde girlie. Yorkies tend to go from black to grey within their first year so I do think those ears are going to fade but I haven’t seen any maltese pups that have that kind of gingery light brown colour all over. What do we think? Will we have a fully white maltese girl this time next year? Interested to get people’s thoughts!
