Most Laps Completed in 2026 and George is no where near the top 8, Mercedes count your days

Most Laps Completed in 2026 and George is no where near the top 8, Mercedes count your days

For context at this point last season he was leading this list with 99% laps completed.

We actually need to go to Brackley and burn that shit down becoz Mercedes are you not ashamed?!!??

Mercedes and their ability to constantly contradict themselves when it comes to George Russell

This is an excerpt from their podcast. And it's not the first time Toto or the team have said something in public that is practically throwing him under the bus, only to go on their official debrief and podcasts (which not many people watch) and backtrack or correct themselves.

Like first they said he's struggling to adapt to the regulations, then they say he contributed heavily to this years development with his simulator work.

George just sitting in his car for a while after parking it

The break couldn't come at a better time honestly. Hopefully he takes his mind of things if or when he goes on vacation.

Ollie Bearman calling the blue flags situation this race a "mess"

Ollie: "That was a tough day. Sorry for the spin in turn 2. Totally caught me off guard"

📻Ronan: "It's p19, unfortunately we got a 5sec penalty for ignoring blue flags"

Ollie: "Oh my god the blue flags were a mess this whole race. Sorry to whoever I ignored"

Honda's Engine upgrade could make or break it for Aston Martin

🔵🟢Alonso Vs Gasly

Practically all the corners go to the AMR26

-30km/h. All the time in the engine

🔴🟢Alonso vs Hulkenberg (getting into Q3)

Minimally worse in the corners. But it's possible that it would come out in favor of the AMR26 with a better engine + package optimization, 20km/h deficit here.

Of course it could be a different story at a different track. But there's definitely promise in their aero package.

On the other side, it also exposes Williams package, because it seems like the Merc engine has really been carrying them and hiding their flaws

Fernando Alonso confirms he is staying with Aston Martin next season

That ends all the F1 journalists hopes for an exciting driver market.

The driver factor is practically negligible

After exiting Turn 15 (the last corner before accelerating flat out towards Blanchimont), Russell was 0.128s off Antonelli’s time

After passing through that section at full throttle, Russell was 0.513s off Antonelli’s time

In other words, Russell lost 0.385s solely due to the battery while he was doing the exact same thing as Antonelli!

Additionally all the battles in the qualifying are being decided by battery management

In every case, the differences are down to the same thing; not even drivers from the same team reach similar speeds at the end of each straight

George’s post race interview: "The performance wasn’t good enough”

"The performance wasn’t good enough, and if I’m being brutally honest… I’m not gonna fight for a championship if the performances continue like that, so I’m not coming away from this weekend satisfied”

One thing I love about George is how he will always be hard on himself and push to do better. He knows he's lucky to be on the podium and is aware that he needs to do more so that results like this are from doing his absolute best and not just the luck of the draw. Happy for the podium and hopefully things pick up for him soon.
