Do we think Toronto will happen?

I've talked to all my friends locally who would go to Turnstile or have seen them in Toronto before, and they're all saying the same thing here, that the upcoming show is just too expensive to justify.

I'm also noticing a lot of promos popping up from Ticketmaster and local record shops trying to push discounted or bulk-priced passes in.

I know that it's expensive to put on a show of this scale as they're essentially having to build their own temporary set up in a park that really just has an existing stage and roof. I'm getting the impression that passes to this show aren't moving...and with Toronto being the only Canadian date I'm wondering if it'll end up getting cancelled.

Thoughts from anyone who cares?

Can the combover hold out for just a little longer?

Hesitant to shave it off. I don't have the face for the goatee and don't want to look less Joseph Gordon-Levitt, more Walter White with a shaved head and goatee that so many people rock here. Plus, I wear Dr. martens most days and don't want to look like a skinhead...

Thoughts? Hold or Shave?

Edit: I don't want a goatee either guys...it just doesn't "feel" like me, yet it almost seems "required" for the bald look to not look anemic, so other style thoughts are appreciated.

How big were Descendents in their first era (pre ALL band)?

So many pop-punk bands cite them as an influence so it got me wondering how big they were in the 80s.

They didn't really have any singles, did they? And I can't think of any media even from say the 90s or 00s that incorporated the Descendents in the same manner as like Black Flag in Freaks and Geeks or the Dead Kennedys in Guitar Hero.

I'm just thinking that compared to their contemporaries of the 80s they only exposure they got was that big bands of the 90s/00s stumbled upon this band and promoted them via word of mouth (blink, the Ataris, NOFX, Atreyu). And even going back to Black Flag and DK, my understanding is that their notoriety certainly also brought these groups fame, something that Bill, Milo, Karl and Stephen (or Frank or Tony or Doug or whoever) didn't really partake in.

Can anyone from the scene in the 80s weigh in? Specifically wondering if they were big back then too.

Waterslide decal help please!

Hi all,

I'm about to apply a waterslide decal and want to make sure I have all steps included that I should.

My process is this:

- 4 coats of Tru Oil on headstock, 24hr dry time

- wetsand successively using grits between 400 and 4000 (increasing increments between these grits)

- polishing compound, polish, wax

Do I need to do the final step to ensure I get a clean application without bumps around the decal/silvering?

I intend on adding more coats of Tru Oil and wet sanding the decal edges down. I'm also wondering if I should use vinegar to help set the decals.

It's on a roasted maple headstock too.

Thanks!

Why bother?

Getting chastised on venting on a failed project here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Wellthatsucks/comments/1u08pf7/working_on_this_paint_job_for_8_months_body/

All I wanted to do was vent but instead I get treated like an idiot. Maybe I am one. Seriously, I'm so done at this point. Beyond this my life is just a revolving door of losing friends, family, and existing basically just to work such that I want to get out. projects like this were suppose to be a distraction, not something to make me even sadder.

See you on the other side.

Working on this paint job for 8 months, body dropped onto a concrete floor. With how many redos I've had to do with this, I give up.
