PD I don't feel comfortable with

My new admin sent me some PD coursework. They had mentioned it in my interview and I didn't think too much into it, but now I'm conflicted. I'm teaching upper level high school science, but the PD is specifically for middle and elementary school grades. I realize they sent me this because I can complete the PD and the school gets free materials, possible school trips, and funding, but for me it seems like a big fat lie and a waste of my time, with 30+ hours mandated PD to receive the benefits.

It is asking me in the application which grades I teach, with no option for high school, and asking me which Regents I align to, which is obviously none of them. I don't teach bio or earth science, so even the middle school options for PD are just unrelated. Plus, I'm seeing that they request copies of standardized test scores from students to track improvement, which I obviously wouldn't be able to provide unless admin whips something up. I honestly have no problem buying most of my own materials if this is why they want me to do it, as I've done that for years, but this is my first year in the DOE and idk how common this is? Would these even count toward my hours required for my professional certification (I'm still on my initial)?

EDIT: They had told me it was middle school training in the interview, but I didn't know I'd have to lie on the training application. That is the part I'm most uncomfortable with.

Big Beautiful Bill FAFSA Refund Delays

I'm a grad student taking two classes this semester, so half time. I wasn't checking my email this summer, was busy working, but I was expecting payment tomorrow and am already so behind on bills. Having to wait 12 extra class days (about 20 actual days) till census date means canned beans and rice for the next few weeks, and canceling hospital appointments because I literally can't afford to even get to the hospital.

Anyway, just venting, but will this affect my enrollment? Will my tuition still be paid by tomorrow's deadline?

Stray 2 Proposal

I asked Chat for a storyboard, and while it isn't a very good storyboard, it helps get the point across. I'd like a Stray 2 game where our kitty family was abducted and taken to another city, and so as we, the orange kitty, explore through the woods we could find some robots who point us in the direction of a train to the other city. Maybe these woodland robots have heard messages from B12, and bring him back to life in a new body, (now he's B13, get it?) And so we get on the train with B13 and have to find our family. Maybe the kitty family was taken because scientists were able to see the abilities of our kitty inside the previous city via surveillance footage and realized the potential of these animals to save future cities, but the scientists were intercepted by the programmed robots that wish to keep them all trapped.

Just my thoughts, please share what you think!

Robotics Class - Arduino Microcontrollers and Google Chromebooks?

Has anyone had any luck using Chromebooks in DOE schools to upload code via USB ports? This is my first year teaching robotics, and I'm worried that even if we do get the Arduino IDE software downloaded onto a classroom of laptops, students still will be blocked from using the ports to upload their codes for class projects onto Arduino microcontrollers. Everyone keeps telling me to just use Wokwi, which lets kids simulate coding onto virtual devices, but I really want this to be a hands-on class. Feeling bummed 😞

Summer work for substitute teachers, can I count on 1-2 days a week?

I'm hoping to be able to pick up work on Subcentral, like 1-2 days a week. I also have a backup plan in place, housecleaning and pet sitting, if necessary, but I would rather sub. What is summer availability for subs usually like? I have a coworker who used to be a substitute telling me that I'll definitely be receiving regular calls for work over the summer, but most posts I'm seeing on Reddit say otherwise...
