i released the final version of the song i previously asked for advice about!
thanks to everyone who gave me advice! i had a very positive experience with this community, everyone is super nice here!
this song was made for a gamejam game, and it's also technically my very first chiptune! the difference from the last version is i added a new section to the song at the end to bridge and loop to the start (to the best of my ability)
feedback welcome!
MAG, a puzzle platformer about magnetizing plugs and making connections
Game Title: Mag
Playable Link: https://yukiiris.itch.io/mag
Platform: PC (Browser)
Description:
Mag is a puzzle platformer about magnets- connect plugs into sockets & power up the level!
Aim with the mouse at a magnetic object (such as a plug or a socket), and let go to magnetize. Currently the only magnetic objects are plugs and sockets which work interchangeably. Connect plugs into sockets, and any objects in the level connected to those sockets will power up (indicated by cables in the background). Objects include moving platforms, gates and doors.
This game was made for the GameDevTV GameJam, the theme being "connections". There are currently 6 levels, 5 main ones and one extra challenge level (with a big difficulty spike).
You can play it on browser at itch.io with fullscreen as an option. If the game gains enough interest, we might work on a full version! We might do it regardless, honestly.

our puzzle platformer about magnets we made for a game jam is OUT!!!
it's all about magnetizing plugs to use as platforms or to power up the level!
i worked together with a friend on this, and we worked tirelessly on this for the last 10 days, it was very tough! it's both me and my friend's first game and also first game jam, we'd really appreciate thoughts and feedback! so excited to hear people's thoughts!!!

i got feedback that my song sounds bad to listen to, especially the second half, thoughts?
i'm not new at making music but i'm EXTREMELY rusty (it's been years and years), plus i never made chiptune music, and to be honest i was never really good at it.
anyway, i tried making this one song for my game jam project's platformer game, and i got feedback that it sounds bad, like some notes sound literally wrong and feels bad to listen to. especially the second half, with the key change specifically (0:20-0:21 and 0:24-0:25)
please give me feedback! i'm having a lot of trouble understanding the fact that it "sounds bad" because it doesn't sound bad to my ears, but i also kinda wish it did because then i might know how to make it sound better, if that makes any sense? help! thank you!
