Do the devs still add features and changes?

Do the devs still add features and changes?

I know this game is already a few years old, but hot damn it is prime for Settlers IV style desire paths. I assume it's too difficult to do it by modding.

For people who don't know, in Settlers IV, a very old city building game, the game would record where villagers walked, and as more and more walked along specific paths, the grass would wear down and dirt paths would form, all without input from the player.

I just feel like this kind of feature would be so perfect for this game.

edit: Here's a good pic showing how it looks

Saving for a home down payment in HCOL area - I don't want to max my 401k

In the next few months I'll finish paying off my high interest debt, so I've started thinking about what I'm gonna do next. I'm 42 and have a teeny tiny retirement (~13k) from a few years of 3% match. Once the debt is paid we'll have about $4500 discretionary income per month. It's my mom and me. I've taken care of her since I was 15, so we will stay together until she passes (she is 80). Could be soon, could be 20 years. The doctor thinks she's healthy.

I am worried about affording the home after she passes, so I am calculating everything based on mortgage + insurance + small repairs being less than $2500/month. For that, in my area I'll need >$250k down in order to lower the monthly outlay enough. If I buckle down and put all $4500 toward a down payment, it'll take 5-6 years to save the minimum. If I put the $24.5k and $7.5k per year toward my 401k and ROTH IRA, it'll take 12 years or more.

I understand I need enough in my retirement, but at the same time having a relatively small mortgage reduces the burden on my retirement. Also, I would love to pay off my house eventually. Owning a home free and clear is more enticing to me than playing interest rate arbitrage, so as a bonus having no rent or house payment makes a big difference in retirement.

We have been extremely poor our whole lives up until a few years ago. We've always had to deal with nasty landlords and we're tired of it. I don't know if I can wait any longer (mentally), so I really don't want to put all that money in my 401k and ROTH IRA.

Thoughts?

2024 Camry XSE seems low quality

I had a fender bender and while my car is being repaired the rental place gave me this Camry. Now, I have driven almost exclusively Toyota/Lexus cars my whole life. Every one I've had has been solid and quiet and durable. My current car is a 22 Corolla Hybrid. However, this Camry has tons of creaks on the inside, the doors rattle when I close them (they sound like Ford doors), the steering wheel seems to be leaking stickiness, and the transmission jerks horribly. Now I guess that last one could be from lack of maintenance, but on a 2 year old car with 60k miles?

I guess we can chalk all these issues up to it being a rental, but still, it seems pretty bad. I thought it would be worth discussing here. Any of you that have this gen Camry feel like that's how it is or do you think maybe it's a lemon?

A guy hit my car on purpose today

I already hate driving to work every day. My commute is about 2.5 hours/day (I do this because rent is about 1800/month cheaper this way). I take a specific route so I have less chance of meeting bad drivers. Today I was merging onto a lane where traffic was almost stopped. The guy I was going in front of was about a quarter mile back. So I slipped in behind the last car in the line that was almost not moving and next thing I know I hear screeching tires and a horn. Based on the time it took him to catch up to me I swear he must've been doing 90. I look back and he's pulled up next to me. Then after almost stopping he turns into me and basically drives over my back fender with his dumbshit SUV.

My insurance will fix it, my premium will go up a tiny amount compared to my income, all in all at worst I am mildly inconvenienced, and yet I'm lying in bed in the middle of the night SEETHING

I can't wait until I don't need a car anymore (ha ha if ever)

Am I right in seeing that they're allowing $600 per month for all other bills?

This is for Medi-Cal. This year her social security went up because of a widow survivorship benefit. It looks like this is $4200/month deductible on 4800 income. That can't be right, can it?

Damn, this CNC stuff is convenient

Had a pile of tools in my desk next to my mill, and it was getting very annoying. Programming and cutting these 2 blocks only took about 10 minutes

Do tame/confined/glum/miserable/starving pacu still drop a fillet on death?

I'm trying to set up a pacu farm by using a set of breeder pacus that get fed algae, and then the eggs get taken out. Those eggs hatch into a pacu and then die of old age. Now, finally 25 cycles later, my oldest pacu (from the removed ones) died, and I watched it closely because I wanted to be sure, and no fillet was created. Is this normal or is it bugging out somehow? Just to be sure I reloaded the save file and it keeps not producing a fillet.

What's the current pacu meta?

I haven't played for a few years, and my recently started base is around cycle 600. I have a mushroom farm but I want to start pumping out high morale food, so I'll switch to surf and turf.

I believe they fixed the infinite pacu meat thing, so I wanted to come here and find out how I should set up my pacu farm.

Please and thank you.

Tormach 440 mounting hole dimensions?

I recently got a Tormach PCNC 440 (2020) and want to engineer a stand for it. I cannot find dimensions online anywhere for the mounting hole distances in the base. I would measure it but it's sitting on the ground and I'm not home anyway (plus it might not be super accurate since I don't have calipers that length). Does anyone know those dimensions? Please and thank you
