How to keep stuff warm for plating

Potentially a really silly question, but as much as I've done a pretty good amount of cooking before, it was mostly when I was younger in a sort of sous chef role. With a lot of things you can make stuff at the same time and line up when it's sorted or maybe you just can keep it warm or whatever (like rice), but the other day for instance I was making steak, and I tried my hand at doing a nice sauce after I'd cooked it. It turned out really good, but the issue is that since you need the stuff from cooking the steak in the pan for the sauce, you can't really line up the cooking time. How do I keep the steak warm for plating after the sauce is done?

Currently "out" as nb, kind of sad I can't nor do I want to (?) go beyond that

It's been a pretty lifelong thing for me to have wanted to be born a girl, I didn't really think it through properly until I wanna say a few years ago tops, previously I just had mad body image issues and assumed I simply had to be gay or whatever. Through the help of my gf at the time I properly came to understand where my mind sits on all this rather than just be perma repressed and upset without a reason I understood.

However, I'm not out nor can I be out to my family. I've got long hair and look fairly androgynous and that alone was pretty hard for me to deal with in regards to judgement from them. In addition, I've only really managed to get by by sort of adhering to a sort of "body neutrality" code, in which I basically try my best to not worry about my appearance or any of that business. My current identity of non binary lends itself to this, and allowed me to feel fine about my lack of real adherance to whatever. Still, to this day what I really would prefer still remains and it obviously sucks to think about. I still wish I was a woman, and if I choose to think/care about it then it does upset me. I just know that I'd both be more unhappy about myself if I tried, and in addition would find it pretty hard obviously being around my family and hiding that. To be clear, I don't mean to invalidate anyone else, you don't need to be perfect and happy about how you look to be a woman, I know this comes from within myself.

It took years for me to become fairly neutral on having a deep voice, or getting mad leg hair, and I know how much that stuff bothered me. I suppose maybe further down the line if/when I'd have the option to fully live separate from family I would be more inclined to try. I suppose it all just makes me sad that both internal and external issues are stopping me from being honest with myself, but I just don't see how I would be happier if I were to be honest. Maybe I'd always feel fake, maybe I'd always feel inadequate, maybe I'd always still be wanting to be better. I just don't feel like I have the bandwidth to add another source of worry to my life, one which I can't see a way I'd be able to get over.

How to judge condition of second hand crampons?

Hi all, my last set of crampons somehow managed to break recently so I'm in the market for new ones. Naturally I'd rather buy second hand, and I'm sure it's perfectly fine, but I'm not entirely sure how to judge the condition of them or to know what to look out for. Am I overthinking this issue or is it something I actually have to look out for when buying crampons second hand, especially considering they're essential safety equipment

Struggling to withdraw government child trust fund

Hi all, I'm now 20 and been trying on and off to withdraw my child trust fund for a while now. I've done the form multiple times to find where it's held, received an email saying I'll receive a response in 3 weeks, and then had nothing. The last time I did this form was on the 3rd of March, and still no response. I have also tried calling HMRC through various avenues, only to be forwarded multiple times around to the wrong branch, and eventually given a phone number which doesn't work, and as far as I can tell was probably shut down years ago (08453021470). How would I go about solving and withdrawing this? I honestly have no idea what I could do

Moving on but struggling with life

Hi all, I've recently broken up with my girlfriend of about half a decade. Long story to be honest, but either way it was all amicable and on good terms, and we intend to be friends once we've given each other a few months. That aside, my main issue is this: It's not that I don't have stuff going for me, or friends or family and so on. I'm fairly accomplished in my life and hobbies so far and I aim to continue with both of these. I'm just struggling a bit because I find doing things that I enjoy and know are good for me hard without the knowledge that I'm doing it for someone else too. Unfortunately for me family doesn't fill the gap in this regard. For example with my university stuff, I've been doing great with it and intend to continue to do so, but finding the drive to do it further than just 'for the sake of it' is the issue here. I feel like that's an unsustainable way to go about life to be honest, at least if I don't want to regress to how I was as a younger teenager. Has anyone else gone through similar stuff and have any advice or similar experiences? Thanks

Sleeping bag material question

Hi all. I'm looking for a new sleeping bag for my girlfriend for car camping, and naturally I settled on decathlon. I was wondering though, as comfortable as those cotton sleeping bags seem, are they fine the humidity that comes if/when it rains in the summer months? Only comes to mind because I had a down sleeping bag once be kinda cold because of the humidity, so I was wondering if the air moisture would be absorbed a bit much by the cotton? I do think the outer lining is not cotton though, but just to be safe

Hi all, I've been looking into getting an electric lunch box recently as they seem to be super convenient for road trips and at work, but I'm not sure on what to buy. I've seen that the sort of universally recommended one is the Luncheaze ones, but those are pretty expensive and I was wondering if anyone knew the advantages it actually gives as opposed to the cheap £30 ones plastered all across Amazon. Thanks
