SOLUTION 1 :

Je me suis renseigné et il semblerait qu'une plaque de plexiglass de 20mm soit assez solide pour ça.

Dans un souci d'économie, j'aimerais trouver une autre solution (une tel épaisseur coûte très cher et extrêmement rare d'occasion).

QUESTION :

Est ce qu'empiler 5 plaque de plexiglass de 4mm sera assez solide pour mon cas ?

Merci bien !

Hong Kong -> France best practice ?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice about buying an item on Facebook Marketplace in Hong Kong and having it shipped to France.

It's a used DVD player (about 8 kg, roughly 55 × 45 × 18 cm in its box). The seller has never shipped internationally before, so I'll need to arrange everything myself.

I have a few questions:

  • Which shipping company would you recommend for the best balance of price and reliability (Hongkong Post/EMS, SF Express, DHL, FedEx, UPS...)?
  • Is it worth paying for additional shipping insurance, or is PayPal Goods & Services enough?
  • Since it's a used item bought from a private seller, will I still have to pay 20% French VAT? Are there any customs duties on this type of product?
  • Any other tips or things I should be aware of before going ahead with the purchase?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Transcribe a 3 speakers scenes

Hello all! I'm working on a short film with 3 comedians. There is an audio mixdown, a boom, and each comedian have a lavalier microphone. Comedians often interrupt each others.

I would like to do a transcribe of all the rushes, and since I have 3 lavaliers, I would like to use those audio clips to transcribe to text (nowing that we can hear the other comedians on each lavaliers too).

Should I do a transcript using the mixdowns, or using the 3 lavaliers clips?

I guess Premiere cannot work with 3 different transcribe, but I thought about export transcribe, and ask an AI to merge all three transcribe text, reimport it in premiere pro.

Thank you!

How do you organize and edit heavily improvised footage?

Hi!

I've been a professional editor for about 10 years, mostly working on commercials and music videos. More recently, I've also started editing narrative fiction.

I'm now about to edit a short film that I directed myself.

The challenge is that there's a lot of improvisation, and I'm not sure how to approach reviewing/logging and organizing the footage.

My usual workflow on commercials, music videos, and scripted fiction is to go through the footage line by line, create a string-out for each line of dialogue, identify what I think is the best take for each, and then build the edit from those selected takes.

With so much improvisation, I could still work line by line, but I feel like it's going to become a nightmare to organize.

On top of that, I've noticed that by breaking everything down into individual lines, I'm not really experiencing the actors' performances as a whole. It feels like I'm losing the rhythm, the emotion, and the spontaneity that made those takes work in the first place.

So I'm feeling a bit lost. How would you approach logging and organizing footage for a project like this? Any advice or workflows from editors who've dealt with heavily improvised performances would be greatly appreciated.

Changing LG CX55" PSU

Hi!

I would like to change my LG OLED CX55 (OLED55CX6LA) Power Board (the TV don't turn on anymore, and red LED doest light neither).

It's orignally a eax68999702 (1.0) Power Board card, I would like to know if I can change it to a eax68999702 (1.1) instead?

Is the 1.1 version is better to avoid power issue like I had?

Thanks a lot for your help!

On premiere pro, is it possible to have the "selection follow playhead" + "select all clips under playhead" at the same time ?

Meaning that I want to scrubble through my timeline, and have every video+audio clips selected automatically without having to press my "select all clips under playhead" every time'

Hello, I wanted to know if the Nvidia Shield can output 768kHz via USB ?

Because when Shield is onnected to my DAC, the DAC switch to 768kHz. But to my knowledge, Nvidia Shield is not supposed to provide that high bitrate.
