Hello all

My parent is about a stage 6 and has been in memory care for about nine months. Due to her mixed dementia she has declined very quickly. We have gotten several reports from aides that she will not take her medication. We don’t know how hard they’re actually trying to get her to take it but this is a new problem for her. She also does not want to eat anything. She is in good health physically as she is only in her late 60s.

We are unhappy with the care She has gotten here and plan to move facilities, but the new facility said any refusal of meds usually results in a psychiatric stay at a geriatric unit. We have gotten several suggestions by staff, including her nurse that we should look into in patient stays at local geriatric psych facilities to get her regulated on her medication because there’s not much they can do for her in memory care if she will not take her medication‘s. I truly think that she needs a different approach to taking her medication’s. They just don’t have the resources or frankly care enough to try.

What do you think? Has anyone else put their loved one in a geriatric facility and has it helped?

I know we've all been having issues with items showing up full price. Has anyone had any luck in the past couple days?

Holy shit this is the weirdest feeling on earth. I couldn’t even wait to tell my husband 2 hours. I literally JUST got off my BC. I thought it would take months and months… took 4 weeks. I was on birth control FIFTEEN YEARS. I’m really in disbelief
