Bought my first car! The Kia Sonet GTX+ 1.0 Turbo DCT.

It’s a 2024 model, had done ~29k kms and got it for INR 12.03L from Spinny. Petrol, Automatic DCT transmission with paddle shifters. Fully loaded with features, ADAS, 360 camera, sunroof, etc. The whole purchase experience was easy and quick with Spinny. The body looked like in perfect condition, with no visible issues, Spinny claims everything is its original parts and have never been replaced. I took it for a full inspection and diagnostic at the Allied Kia service centre, and they said everything looks good!

I absolutely love driving this vehicle. The road presence is amazing! I wish I had gotten a white one though. The air purifier on the hand-rest console isn’t working well, it switches on and then beeps an error-like message continuously, until I switch it off. I haven’t gotten the chance to explore the Kia Connect features since RC transfer is still in process and Allied Kia Service center wants the RC transfer to be done to help me with setting that up.

Since this is my first car, I was looking for any advice on what to look for in second hand vehicles, any long term issues anybody faced, any cool accessories for the cars interior or exterior (maybe a neat hood scoop or a spoiler to blend in with the aggressive stance), and maybe any quick road weekend trip ideas around Delhi to enjoy the driving experience on this more.

Advice on PS5 Controller Repair

Context : I bought my OG fat PS5 with single white controller in 2022. In just 2 years time, the controller was riddled with stick drift and I just ended up buying a second camo controller instead of fixing it.

Last year, I tried finding out where I can repair my white controlled and I was advised to go to Xtro Games & Repairing (DLF phase 4, I’m based out of Gurgaon). They said they’re repairing and adding Hall effect sticks and it’s more reliable.

It’s just been under a year, the stick drift issue has returned. I checked online and found out that there’s a TMR stick (not very sure of how it’s technically better), and I can see that you buy the TMR stick yourself and then get it installed. Another option was to send it to Game-Loot who will install TMR stick and repair it for 1,799 including free pick up and delivery, but the whole ordeal takes ~7 days.

Honestly, I just want my controller fixed in the most reliable way possible, and would prefer going to a store to get it fixed then and there itself (preferable in GGN but wouldn’t mind NCR if it’s metro accessible and highly recommended, in Gurgaon/NCR

Help me : can you ps5 homies help a brother out and tell me what to do next?

  1. Should I buy TMR sticks online and go to a random game shop to get that fixed?
  2. Should I give my joystick to GameLoot to get it fixed?
  3. Would you know any reliable game store in Gurgaon/NCR that I can visit, give my joystick and get it repaired with TMR sticks in it?
  4. Or I’m open to any other advice.

TL;DR : joystick riddled with stick drift even after repairing it less than a year ago. Need quick and reliable way to get it fixed and run it long term.

My new daily driver : The Seiko 5 GMT “Black Grape” SKX Reinterpretation

Not sure if it’s a flex for most of you as I keep seeing expensive watches here often, but here’s my humble flex lol. After a lot of contemplation and research, and being new to the mechanical watch game, I bought myself a daily driver.

The first thing that caught my attention is how beautiful the jubilee link looks. And after removing a few links, it fit so snug on my wrist. It def feels a lot more premium than the 39.5k I paid for it from Ethos. And it doesn’t grab too much attention as well.

When coming back in to the building from a quick sutta break at the office is when I first observed that beautiful lume glow. The HDR on my phone cam kinda reduces the glow in this pic though. I still need to figure out how to set and read the red GMT hand. Presently it’s just at a random hour lol. The rotating bezel as well, I know it’s functional but the rotating it felt lil tight and I get more concerned about rotating it back to align it exactly to 12 lol.

What do you guys think about my first daily driver mechanical? Would you have chosen something else for a similar budget? Also, I’m worried about the scratches on it considering it’s not sapphire crystal and it’s gonna be my daily driver (I just have one other watch to switch it between), any tips to ensure it’s long life?

My first mechanical watch : Tissot Le Locle

The only watch I’ve owned prior to this is an Apple Watch Series 7. I got married last month and I didn’t feel nice wearing that for the wedding. So after doing a bit of quick research online, I went to the nearest Ethos boutique.

I had gone there to buy a PRX. But a friend of mine advised me that I shouldn’t be choosing just because it looks good online and is a popular choice, I should be choosing what feels good and right when I hold it and wear it. I didn’t make much of that advice tbh cz it sounded like a typical enthusiast advice.

But when I went and tried the PRX, i felt just didn’t fit right for me and didn’t look as good as I thought it would. After testing on a couple of other Tissot and Longines Hydroconquests, I came across this navy dial Le Locle with a blue leather strap on a butterfly buckle.

I instantly understood my friends advice. Maybe my bias towards blue also came into play since my wedding tux was dark blue as well. I didn’t think twice about it, I loved it, and bought it for INR69k. It felt amazing, fit perfectly, and looked real classy and elegant.

The open back automatic wasn’t like the usual ones I have seen in others online, I loved how there is like another metal casing/shield like thing on the open back that gave it like tiny bit of hidden steampunky aesthetic to it, with the classy cursive Le Locle branding on it.

The 80 hour power reserve on it allows me to wear it like twice or thrice a week without losing power (didn’t want to daily it cz it feels too special). But even if it’s out of power, the winding process and setting the date and time again on it feels like a ritual I love and share with the watch to start that day.

I love it. I can def see my Apple Watch catching dust now. I really wanna get one more nice automatic for daily driving on the days I don’t wear this Le Locle. Something little more cheaper. Maybe like a metal strap Seiko 5 (love the jubilee link ones) or Citizen Tsuyosa. Any advice would be appreciated, within 30-35k range.

I’m glad I discovered this love for mechanical watches. I always jokingly mocked my friends that didn’t use a smartwatch and spent on expensive watches cz of things that it does like fitness tracking and stuff (sorry homies lol), but I get it now.

What do you think about this watch choice as my first mechanical watch?
