Got my new Bodacious S90V + carbon fiber Sprint Run (Father’s Day gift) today, and also received a SMKW exclusive Shaman in S45VN with grey micarta that a fine gentleman offered to me at an unbelievable price that I couldn’t pass up.
The scales on the Bo are fantastic! The texture & sparkle can’t really be conveyed via pictures. 2 big bad Spydies for the collection. Happy Day!

Sorta NKD... Just received my Shaman back from Spyderco, or should I say a replacement. Kudos to the company - when I received my Shaman brand-new from them, the choil bump was rubbing slightly against the liner when it closed. I contacted Customer Service and they had me send it back at their expense. Warranty Support checked it out, then just sent me back another brand-new Shaman that is absolutely flawless!
Also included a letter thanking me for my patience and apologizing for any inconvenience! Love the company and their products.
I took the pics of it alongside my "Shadacious" just for comparison, since they're basically fraternal twins & I was carrying it today anyway. You can see my modified Shaman scales, and the other pic shows you the difference in blade thickness between the Shaman (L) and Bodacious (R). On paper, the thickness seems negligible, but it is apparent when you see them side-by-side. My "Shadacious" is the best of both worlds IMO.

CF-Elite vs Titanium
Nothing has convinced me of how good Benchmade factory CF-Elite and Grivory scales are… more than putting some Flytanium Titanium scales on one of my Bugouts.
Don’t get me wrong - they’re well-made and look very nice. And they’re all kinds of heavier & infinitely less “grippy”. Slick metal may feel like more “quality”, but is far less practical for a knife that you plan to actually use.
I’m not arguing or disparaging, but just observing. Once again reinforcing that I just don’t like metal scales as much as other materials, all things considered. I doubt I’ll ditch these $100+ titanium scales, but they’ve 100% convinced me to avoid metal scales from here on. I just don’t like ‘em. I’ll take G-10, micarta, or CF any day.
