Black tie -

I am fortunate to have been invited to >4 black tie events this fall. I cannot wear the same thing to all. I looked at Armoire, but it seemed spendy

I have ordered Nordstrom rack

Tried Ballard goodwill, Eres, Refind, etc

What are good options - for larger sizes? My younger self is laughing at me.

Garden visitor

The dragonfly hung out for at least an hour, I made a mistake and startled it when tending to the tomato.

Any ideas on how to make them happy like the bumblebees in the garden? I know I do not have the right habitat for dragonflies to settle here - just want to make them happy on a flight during their day.

PNW gardening achievement badges

I feel like I did something very PNW this evening and mowed the grass after 9pm to not disturb all the pollinators on the clover

What else should be a badge?

  • Leaving zucchini on a neighbor’s doorstep (achieved)
  • using zoo poo (aspiring)
  • pulling weeds in the rain (achieved) Etc…

What would you nominate to be a PNW gardening badge? What do y

Foraging schools, clubs etc?

I am foraging curious, and cautious about anything other than the blackberries everywhere.

I am happy on a day hike, and bringing back PNW gourmet foods seems like a bonus.

Any tips on groups or communities? For a longer course I can stay in Oregon.

Best sources for manure?

Looking for good sources of manure, I know how to use it in the garden safely and do not need it integrated with compost.

Home office - what did you do with yours?

I have a home office that is rarely used now and quite honestly - I do not like to be in there. There were too many moments that I pushed through to keep working and get to financial security.

I am looking for transformative ideas, I bought a laptop that is more than enough for what I need. I plan to paint it and replace the carpet to visually change the look. What did you wind up using your former home office for?

The simple things

We had a broken lamp, after a couple of trips to home discount spots I was about to buy an expensive replacement.

My better half fixed the old one today :-), it feels awesome, grateful.

New - or did I get a used return?

I just unboxed my Ridge and noticed the inner box was not in the right direction with the rest of the packaging. Then when I saw the wallet it looked dirty/worn like it had been used before.

Is this normal or should I contact customer service for a new one?

Parent with mobility issues, Sea-fair air show (Blue Angels)

My dad loves watching the Blue Angels, and has significant mobility issues.

They are planning their trip to Seattle around the time the Blue Angels are here. I am in the Queen Anne/Uptown area so I could keep it simple and watch nearby.

  1. has anyone tried getting Space Needle tickets during the Angels performance and how was it?

  2. Museum of flight looks like it has a special for watching the planes take-off land. How much walking is necessary to get to the viewing area?

  3. I am thinking getting tickets and going to Seward might be too much for them, but if you have a positive experience with this, please prove me wrong with the details on what you did. I am willing to pay extra for assistance and a good experience.

Thanks for any suggestions, right now I am leaning on simple to acknowledge their mobility/energy issues but want to explore making the trip more special. My dad is unwilling to use a wheelchair, and can use a walker or cane very short distances with no slope or rough pavement.
