ELI5: How can my phone do two different touch actions at the same time?

On my Samsung phone, when I watch Instagram videos, I can long-press the video with my thumb to pause it. While still holding my thumb down, I can use another finger to pull down notifications or interact with other parts of the phone.

How does the touchscreen know that one finger is supposed to keep the video paused while the other finger is doing something completely different? How can it track multiple touches independently at the same time?

H1b With or without I94?

Hi all, here is my time line

my i94 expiry date is sept 30 2025

applied for h1b extension on sept 24rd 2025 and still pending.

got a new client with same employer. applied for extension plus amendment on may 6th 2026 in premium, included receipt notice of 1st application which will act as a bridge

Only 2nd application approved while 1st is still pending.

I am in US right now, from the past 2.5 years I am facing lot of pressure related to job, I got a job recently but experiencing lot of work related pressures now, apart from it facing additional pressure due to husbands job/visa issues.

I94 expiry -- Sept 30 2025

H1b extension filed -- Sept 23 2025 ( still pending )

Got a new client under same employer

Planning to file H1b amendment on May 4th 2026 through premium

Questions:

  1. Will both the applications handled at same time?

  2. If only amendment gets approved, will that be without i94?

  3. Chances of amendment approves with I94?
