Home contents insurance for renters covering theft

I'm renting a house and so I'm trying to get contents insurance for my belongings.

The problem that I am facing is that seemingly all Thai insurance policies have very heavy restrictions on the amount covered for theft and burglary. E.g insuring 500,000 THB of belongings will only cover 50,000 - 100,000 THB in the event of theft or burglary.

Has anyone else successfully navigated this process and have a reasonable amount of theft cover? I'm on my 4th agent as well as my own digging and it is hard to find anything suitable.

To me theft and burglary is the #1 likely claim (which I guess the insurer is reflecting). 100,000 isn't much really. It would be very quick for a thief to steal items of that value.

Curious if anyone has every bothered with OCPB complaints for consumer law breach on Shopee or Lazada, and what the outcome was.

I can't be bothered going into details but if you know, you know, with buying on Shopee or Lazada.

It's too common a listing says an expensive electronic item has a 5 star sticker and it has a sticker sure, but the sticker says zero stars, or it says a device has air quality sensors and then it doesn't, etc etc.

Curious if anyone has ever taken things a step further. I'm relocating and having a few nightmare interactions (and before anyone says that I deserve it for using Shopee or Lazada, I'm having a whole different set of problems with HomePro - they don't even deliver the product or the install you paid for weeks ago...)

At least when you get stiffed in Thailand you are still happy to be here 😆

Nothing Ear (open): so comfortable I got shocked to hear noise next to my head

I was scrolling through a store and a video started playing. I completely forgot I was wearing one earbud and got a shock to hear someone next to me.

I forget that they're even on my ear at all - they're that comfortable. And maybe being open + having good sound it just sounds very real.

Or sometimes I go to scratch my ear and am surprised to find something there.

Mosquitos are attracted to natural repellent

Every time I put this on I am SWAMPED by mosquitos. Far more than the few that led me to apply it. They must be conditioned to know that citronella = juicy blood? Short of directly spraying it on them, they seem less than bothered by it!

"Instant" ramen is hilarious in Thailand

Everyone else just adds the water and flavour 😆 Not complaining

I've always loved the ethos of Prusa, and the addition of the INDX system as an add-on is so great. It's just been cost prohibitive before Core One+. And until INDX I didn't like the Prusa multi-material system (though tbh all multi-material systems are pretty useless and problematic for single filament prints). I love that in general you can keep improving your device with Prusa (unlike the slap in the face of the X2D to recent P2S buyers). Being able to tinker and upgrade is great. And when I have time I'd love to assemble a Core One+ kit.

BUT, I just moved overseas and had to sell my P1S so currently have no active printer - my Flashforge AD5X is waiting for parts to try and stop it from electrocuting me, and my A1 Mini and Creality K2 Pro are 2 months away by sea. So having no printer right now while setting up a new house is hurting my soul.

I want to convince myself to go Core One+ kit and later INDX but the cost and time consumed is letting Bambu suck me back into the walled garden vortex...... HELP!
