AS Designs ARC Selectors
I’m not a fan of the milspec selectors for the ARC v2 on my AP5 so I decided to give the AS Designs 416 selectors a whirl. Some will like, some will dislike. As for me, I think they look fantastic.

I feel like I can conquer the world after spending 75 minutes and almost losing two springs installing this flat trigger kit (second photo). The trigger feels so nice, and it’s really unfortunate that the factory trigger is meh. Gotta say the tutorial on the Volquartsen site is super helpful.
Swapped the V1 out for the V2 in my AP5. A very much improved tactile feel in the 0-45-90 selector. Everything ran as it should with 124 grain ball ammo, Omega 45k can and 100-deg locking piece (attached vid).
On a side note when I had the V1, 124 grain ran flawlessly but I couldn’t make it through a few rounds of 147 grain. I tried running different locking pieces, trimming the firing pin spring and was thinking about getting a heavier hammer spring. I didn’t get a chance to record but with the V2 I ran through two full mags of 147 grain in super safe without a hitch. Color me shocked 🤯.
Picked up a Factory Second Gen IV UTX-85. Definitely going into the carry rotation.
Just swapped out the V1 with the V2 in my AP5. Kept the milspec trigger/AS Designs MP5 hammer that came with my V1. Install was a breeze on my AS Designs lower. The shorter throws feel nice and passed all manual cycling function checking. Looking forward to the range now and hating money lol.
