Alice In Chains - Black Gives Way To Blue: Do not neglect this album
This album is so good. What are your thoughts?

Do you only buy your CDs/vinyls from stores or do you buy them online? When I’m in some record store I always look up how much I can get it for online to compare the prices
One of my favorite albums OAT
What is your favorite 3 run grunge album from any grunge band?
This is tough. I’d go AIC: Dirt - Jar of Flies - Tripod
Love Purple and she got me this as a late birthday present!
Mark lanegan is stone cold and unleashes hells gates with his voice and Dave Grohl is such a badass drummer. QOTSA - song for the dead.
Is Candlebox grunge?
I always hear people say grunge was more of a scene than a genre. If that’s the case, Candlebox was a rock band from Seattle that came out of that same scene, so why do so many people say they aren’t grunge?
Listen to “Far Behind,” “You,” or “Rain.” And honestly, their self-titled album is so damn good. Is it just because they got popular a little later, or is there another reason people don’t consider them grunge?
Listened to tripod for first time this week. Prob my 3rd/4th time listening to it all the way through now. Holy smokes how good is this album?
Where do you all find grunge CDs these days?
I’ve been trying to build up my collection (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, STP, Nirvana, Silverchair, etc.) and haven’t had much luck locally. I checked a large used media store that sells CDs, vinyl, books, movies, and games, but the grunge/rock selection was pretty picked over.
I’ve also checked two local flea markets. One had some cool stuff like Soundgarden and Contraband by Velvet Revolver, but they wanted around $18 per CD, which seemed pretty steep for used CDs. I also stopped by my local thrift store and came up empty-handed.
Where do you guys usually find grunge CDs? Local record stores, thrift stores, flea markets, Discogs, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or somewhere else? Curious where you’ve had the best luck.
UYI 1/2, Lies, Spegetti, a cassette of civil war / YCBM from before UYI was released. Knew you guys would appreciate it
He had alot of CDs but these are the grunge ones he had! So badass!!
I am traveling to New York from June 3rd-6th. Planned this trip a long time ago and didn’t realize two major sporting events will be going on at the same time. Will this impact assessability to certain restaurants and stuff with the crowds? Thanks!
So what are y’all’s thoughts on Scott’s work with Velvet Revolver? Do you like it as STP fans? Contraband came out in 2004, and I’m not saying it’s better than any of STP’s first three albums, but I genuinely think it can hold its own with them. That album is packed with bangers: “Slither,” “Fall to Pieces,” “Sucker Train Blues,” “Loving the Alien.” You can tell Scott still had a ton left in the tank creatively at that point.
And as much as I love the DeLeo brothers, come on, Scott Weiland and Slash together is just such a badass combination. Then you throw in Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum from Guns N’ Roses, and it’s almost impossible for that lineup not to make great music.
Drop your top 10 songs. I first listened to core and purple about a month ago and love them. Trying to listen to more of their songs. Got into them because I loved VR. Here’s my 10:
