Anyone recognize or know anything about these?

My dad bought them 20+ years ago and I inherited them 3 years ago when I started golfing. I’m a 14 HC now and I’ve become a club junkie and wish i knew more about the clubs i play. The shafts don’t have a labeled stiffness but they are either stiff or X-stiff. The 35 on the shaft makes me think they are 35g but I’ve never heard of a shaft that light playing that stiff. Anyone who knows anything is welcome to add.

What is the reason for such strong lofts in GI irons?

If GI or players distance irons are already low spin, why make them such strong lofts? What good does a 43/44 degree pitching wedge do when most gap wedges are 50-52 degrees? I’m a 17 HC who’s iron play is my strong suit just get into trouble off the tee and a streaky short game. I’m looking for new irons as I’m playing a 20+ year old set that’s missing a 5i too but nothing that seems like it would fit my game has lofts that make sense to me. I haven’t hit any of them before but have gotten the consensus that irons with any sort of forgiveness just go a mile and don’t spin.

Am I crazy for buying clubs without hitting them

Considering buying a second hand set of zx5 irons as a 16 handicap, not close to any golf retail store and don’t expect them to carry the zx5s anymore probably only zxi5s, is it a 100% horrible idea to buy without ever trying or just not ideal?

18 HC considering apex pro 24 irons

Offered mint apex pros 4-pw for <$400, thinking about going for it but worried they will be too hard to hit. Should i go for it just for the deal id be getting? Ball striking isnt bad but i play 20+ year old cavity backs and worried about taking the jump.

In the market for new irons and having trouble choosing the type i want. I currently play a ping eye 2 equivalent iron that’s ancient. So think forgiveness wise these two techs will be most similar to what I’m used to. About a 16 HC so the idea of a little more forgiveness in the hollow body’s sound nice to me but heard many complaints about center strikes going an extra 10+ yards on those clubs like p790s. This distance control issue is the main thing steering me away from hollow body’s, but even some cbs like zxi5s have been known for this issue too. Anyone know the science behind these jumpers and if it’s a real issue i should be considering?
