ive fallen into a bad habit of using AI for everything, instead of looking things up on the internet, justifying it despite the moral/ethical and environmental concerns.

im seeking to change this but im annoyed with google, i dont want to use google's AI, i hate the SEO hellhole that google has become.

so dear fellow users of the internet hell machine....whats the next best search engine?

I bought a used sermoon v1 pro, for cheap.

it's been over a week and I cannot get it to connect to Wi-Fi properly.

as in I will jump through all the hoops to get it connected to wi-fi, I can sit here and look at it connecting to my routor and getting an IP address, yet the app does the 90 second timeout thing and tells me that it doesn't work.

so I dug my old Samsung out of storage to try and see if maybe it was an issue with my current Samsung, and it was more the same. printer connects to the network but the apps claim it cant connect.

I've tried updating the firmware, I tried factory resets, I tried plugging it in with the lan cable, nothing.

I messed around with my main Wi-Fi network settings to try to get it to connect, nothing.

I created a whole bunch of different guests networks with special settings that supposedly should work, nothing.

eventually I tried hotspotting my phone but nothing

i formatted the SD card on the Wi-Fi board, just to see if that was the issue. (i backed it up before i formatted it)

I even managed to log in on the web access panel and tried poking around in settings and no luck.

so do I have any options here?

perhaps im not aware of every detail of how these petitions work....

but with the voter info leaks and the fact that apparently some regions have allegedly had 95% of the voting population sign this petition just seems like red flag after red flag.

i would not be the least bit surprised if we hear of fraudulent signatures in the petition in the coming weeks or months. as in the petition organizers and volenteers copying names from voter records and putting them in the petition.

with all that has transpired, idk how anyone could trust the legitimacy of the existing petition.

i cant verify that this is true or not, but from what ive heard, it wont be possible to know if your voter info was used fraudulently and there is no current way to take your name off of the petition if its found on there somehow.

the whole thing reeks of fraud.

every week i come in it feels like the DM creates a new rule that:
~makes no sense to anyone
~actively makes the working conditions worse

every week i come in, the DM decided that she doesnt like where something is in the store, and gets us to move it. only for whatever was moved to be moved back to where it came from within a week or 2.

its become a running joke with the cashiers and other floor people about what new rule we will get this week or what we will need to move this week.

we had the DM tell us we cant have the free box bin in the store anymore before christmas time, so we spent the christmas season swimming through the back room due to being crowded with christmas shit and cardboard boxes that we couldnt throw away because the dumpster was full.

and then suddenly the GM brings the box bin back in feburary because apparently the DM had no idea what she was talking about and we where allowed to have a box bin the whole time

its just never ending bullshit like this all the time.

and the regular customers make comments to me about things being moved and how they cant find what they are looking for.

i said to one of the assistant managers that things being moved around the store so often makes it hard to know and remember where everything is, and makes store staff sound like morons when we work here but dont know where anything is and cant answer basic questions

i tried getting it to connect to my wifi, which has 2.4g and 5g...no luck

i made a guest network with only 2.5g...no luck

i hostspotted my phone...no luck.

when i use the app to scan for wifi networks, none of mine show up.

and i have no special charactures in the SSIDs

so so much bitching about gas prices (somehow its carneys fault lol)

but i personally i find it really hard to care about the price of fuel. in fact, i kinda want the price of fuel to deal some heavy damage to the monstrous plague of petromasculinity.

i live in alberta, it feels like at least a third of all of the vehicles on the road are pickup trucks. the bulk of the traffic on the road besides trucks is oversized SUVs.

many, most of these stupid trucks are loud as fuck, and people drive them like weapons.

I walk and take transit, and it's a regular occurrence that some guy behind the wheel of a lifted half-ton deliberately accelerates toward me at a crosswalk, revs their engine next to me on the sidewalk, trying to make the thing backfire or whatever.

im not even a woman or anything, im a average looking male. it makes me wonder how bas it is for women.

there is absolutely no care for noise pollution, no care for congestion on roads. no care about environmental impacts.

so many people i know dont think twice about leaving their truck to idle for extended periods of time, even when its warm outside. (and they wonder why their hemi develops lifter tick). i have a neighbor who likes to go outside every few hours and toke up and hotbox his truck for 20-30 minutes at a time, and he just sits there idling. i have another neighbor who only recently stopped remote starting his diesel and letting it run for 45+ minutes every morning.

it never stops amazing me how many people would rather drive instead of walking 5 minutes. instead of walking a few minutes to the corner store, they will scrape the ice off of their vehicle, let it warm up, then drive it for 2 minutes to the corner store.

its moronic to me, the amount of people i know who are car poor (and truck poor) but refuse to consider any other option other than continue to drive all the time.

instead of thinking that maybe they are making poor financial choices by driving an impractical vehicle, they want the government to subsidize driving, to make it more affordable to them so that they can continue on with unsustainable choices.

i know way too many young guys working 40+ hrs a week for around $20/hr, and the first vehicle they buy is a truck....and then they spend tons of money on mods for the truck....and then make it a hobby to rip around being a terror. i cant imagine trying to pay rent and bills, then spending all that money on an impractical vehicle.

the funny part is that they complain about the CoL being too high, and being constantly broke, and they default to blaming the government for their inability to save money and not live paycheck to paycheck, and a lack of fianacial options and mobility, when many of these guys are paying over $750 a month, just on gas and insurance for their shitty truck that they dont need.

there is no thought of changing their lifestyle. its just more pity party, "woe is me" shit.

and god forbid that you mention that they downsize to something more practical, because at this point, petromasculinity and truck ownership has become part of a person's personal identity. it has become part of who they are as a person

trying to talk to these people just generates the same NPC responses that could be summerized as:

>"trucks is alberta culture bro"

>"girls wont date you if you dont have a truck"

>"dont tread on me bro"

>"evil woke communist liberals tryna take my freedom truck from me"

>"government should make the gas cheaper so i can continue to be a terror and a menace on the road"

So no, I don't have a lot of sympathy when those same people are getting wrecked at the pumps. You made a choice. You decided that your daily commuter and grocery-getter needed to be a truck or large SUV. That's not the government's problem to fix. this is a issue that YOU created. and its on YOU to fix.

I want this to hurt, i want this to hurt so bad that you reconsider your life choices and you make more practical decisions, instead of opting for the most impractical, wasteful, destructive option available to you, simply because you made driving a truck your identity and culture.

However, I'll give this much:

Canada and the municipalities therein, has mostly failed across the board on transit, rail, and walkability for decades. Instead of opting for walkability, denser neighborhoods and transit and rail projects, we opted for roads and stroads and suburbs and urban sprawl.

A lot of people genuinely have no good alternative to driving. I get that, especially if one is disabled.

Some people live in rural areas where snow removal can take days or where dirt roads get soft in the spring thaw or excessive rain. Some people are farmers and need a truck, I get that some business owners need a truck for hauling tools and materials.

But this is a more practical use for a truck, this is what they where designed for.

But my sympathy runs out fast when the default vehicle of choice becomes a half-ton pickup truck. My sympathy runs out when you waste fuel constantly, which has an impact on air quality and people's respiratory health. My sympathy runs out when you vote for people who shoot down and block any development in alternative transport.

so for context:

ive been on and off 3 different types of stimulant medication since 2021. ive gotten dosages adjusted too.

unfortunately, even on the XR formulas, if i take my meds at 8 am, they will be worn off by 2 ish pm.

stims also dehydrate me, and frequently make me feel hyperaroused and overstimulated, and sometimes nauseous. i am also way more likely to experience heat fatigue, which sucks because i dont have AC.

normally i quit taking meds during the summer because i often get a outdoors job, requiring me to be outside in the blazing sun all day, so the heat fatigue is a real concern.

im also photosensitive, so the blazing sun and the meds and the heat fatigue and the overstimulation and then the photosensitivity and nausea make for a shitty summer.

Unfortunately, if i quit taking my stim medication, i will go through a horrible crash and withdrawals. ive done it before but it sucks.

but me being unmedicated drives my partner crazy.
