I understand the appeal of having a guaranteed pathway to medical school, especially given how competitive the admissions process has become. Realistically, though, many of the students who are competitive enough to earn admission to a BS/MD program already have the academic credentials, extracurriculars, and work ethic needed to successfully apply to medical school through the traditional route (and, probably a higher ranked medical school, considering lots of BS/MDs are at lower-mid tier schools). What do you guys think?

Do patients ever judge you by your undergrad/med school? Like would a surgeon who went to Harvard for college through fellowship have more oppurtunity/volume than someone who went to their state school (for private practice not academia)?

Just saw a different post on this sub mention a bs/md between Yeshiva and Einstein. I was surprised I had never heard of it before, as Einstein is a pretty good (free) med school. Anyone know anything about it?

I know rankings don’t matter much, but I’m really curious how free tuition changes things. How do you guys think Einstein‘s ranking has changed since the announcement? T20? Do you think it will ever reach NYU levels?
