Sandbanks Great Birdingn Site

We were at Sandbanks this week, Cedar Campground, site 295. We always come for the beach and it was great.

But had an unexpectedly exceptional birding experience from our site. It backs onto woods with a fairly open canopy. Every morning somewhere between 15 and 20 species would be causing around the site. It was really something. Here's a snapshot of what Merlin heard one morning, in less than an hour.

Anyway, just spreading the word. Feel free to share great birding spots as well.

Awning Sag

Okay, roast me. Seems like this is the best I can do at setting up our awning. Dont use it 90% of the time but we were into some rain this week and it was nice to have space outside the camper.

But I wouldn't feel comfortable if there was any significant overnight rain cause it doesnt really drain, just catches all the rain.

Any suggestions for making it more taught???

Bluetti Elite 100 + Go Power 100W solar panel connection

Starting to pull our hair out. Have asked Google several times and come up empty on the actual right cords to purchase. Finally purchased cords that fit and we're getting 0 input.

Here's a picture of the setup. Yes, I realize the solar panel isn't connected cause we brought the Bluetti inside.

Any tips greatly appreciated!!!!

Finally need to tarp

Had our popup for 2.5 years. Probably up to ten trips and have someone avoided anything past a sprinkle. Not the case for our upcoming trip. So if the forecast holds I think we'll throw up a tarp over the camper for the trip.

Having never done it, Id love some tips or pointers on how to do it. The site we're staying at is shown.

Late Arrival Hosting Dinner

Heyo, just looking for some suggestions and wonder if there's something Im not thinking. We have an Airbnb with a grill and are gonna do a dinner the night we arrive. 3pm check in. Traveling that day as well so Im not thinking there will be time to give something a good marinade.

Burgers and sausages are easy of course. Anything else on the quick side of things?

Show Information

Heading to PEI late July/early Aug. Haven't stumbled across a site or page that has show/gig information. Maybe it doesnt exist but would be great to know when and where there's a fella playing guitar at a pub and we could hit it up.

Any info is great!

Comps

Had to be a joke right? Simmons saying he was the first one to do players comps???

Seems bonkers to me. But maybe I'm crazy. I know CMJ was sure as shit doing RIYL before Simmons comps.

Front Storage - Soggy Material

Hello folks, looking for some advice. I knew this was the case last year and did have it looked at by a trailer shop (when it was in for something else). They suggested covering it up with plywood, rather than having them remove and replace because that would be super expensive.

Two questions. 1. Do folks have an idea of where the water would get in? It actually seems like it comes from underneath (the top of the inside is dry to the touch after it rains). If thats the case how do I cover that up? 2. I can picture using plywood to cover it up. I have a couple pieces that would work fine. I can picture screwing it into that dark wood bar thats on the back. But there isn't anything logical to screw it down to on the front, maybe wood glue???

Thanks for reading! Any suggestions or questions welcome.

Savenger - Needle Drop

Can't get it out of my head so I have to write it down somewhere. I picture this song used as a needle drop in a late 80s, early 90s movie.

It would be used to score the main character doing something with medium stakes. Not high stakes! Maybe running through the street of Chicago, on a cold November day, to get a legal document signed so the deal can get done. We need to get the deal done.

Let's Go T.O.!!!

Well, super pumped for the show in a couple weeks. But just looked at the venue on Ticketmaster and there's a ton of tickets available. Bummed that it hasn't sold better. It is a crazy weekend in Toronto with lots going on, but wish I could put out the bat signal to get more tix sold.
