Wanting to understand why daisy chains aren't the safest to rig with--the studio near me uses them for every aerial apparatus and it's always made me uneasy but I've never known why!
Hi, all!
For context, I moved from a major city with plenty of studios to a quieter area with just one. I'd heard in my old studios that they disallow daisy chains altogether, and it's usually something people say they'd avoid if a studio used them.
I moved out here and this studio uses them pretty extensively. I've even requested if I could have the daisy chain on my hoop during class removed, but the studio owner didn't understand why and insisted it was fine. I've looked it up but I'm still not entirely sure I understand the science/physics behind it. I want to understand at a more holistic level as to why it's not favored when rigging an apparatus. Kind of like an Explain-like-I'm-five moment. 😓 Apologies, I truly just want to be able to express my own discomfort with my teacher, especially since every time I do get a hoop with a daisy chain, I feel less secure.
It's the only studio out here, so I'm not 100% sure what to do. It's why I've also stopped training drops--I feel really uneasy!
Thanks so much for anyone who's kind enough to educate me!
