2 hours ago we got the news the 1st of september we will know details about the next dlc! Many hope for Operation bulldog/serpent and i am also leaning towards that.

But what new mechs do you hope to see?

Im going with 3060-62 candidates and one wildcard.

1. The Hellspawn

Because we need more medium mechs. And the hellspawn fits it well. And its already in mwo. 3062 might be a bit late...but never say never!

2. The Thanatos

Lets follow up a juicy new IS medium mech with a juicy heavy one. The thanatos. Its fast. Packs a punch. Looks awesome. And we already have a model in MWO!

3. The blood asp

Fan favorite of many. Even as a IS surrat i highly respect and praise the blood asp. And by praise i mean frikking terrified of it.

4. The lancelot

My wildcard. I want it. I need it. Its an SLDF mech that is just wicked cool. The SLDF vintage model goes 97km/h and the downgraded succession wars model is basically a rifleman with 2 LL and a PPC. But its awesome.

Woke up this morning to a whole bunch of soil on the kiezelkes and seeing this. Its about 6cm wide and deep? My Cat has been anxious for 3 days and now i think i know why. Now i dont wanna evict it. If he pays rent he can stay. (Region is west limburg, there are fields and forrests nearby)

After a long time i finally began rewatching sg1 and atlantis. Made the smart move to buy the dvd box of SGA for 50 euro because dear amazon prime= i will Not pay 33.9 euro for one season that is digital and i wont own anyway.

But im already at the siege, end of season. The railgun turrets baffled me when i first saw SGA when it released. It still baffled me today. But now i look at it and it seems to be one heck of a prop.

I mean. It rotates. It SEEMS to be build on a bofors 40mm carriage. It has a fully detailed control panel.

I am so intrigued by this! Does anyone know more?

I was replaying MW5 chaos reign and i began to immerse myself in the cutscene of Jake's merc company arriving on tharkad, the lyrans capital planet. And i realised....Damn that planet is cold. Open sarna and bam 20 degrees celcius on the equator...that has to be one cold ass planet...and That as a capital.

Sarna sucked me in and before i knew it was reading about Atreus..Sian...New Avalon and black Luthien.

A new dlc means a new campaign and you think you have seen it all after 1000 hours of (vanilla) gameplay. WRONG.

WHAT?

So i decided to visit my old punching bag in the chaos march. Its been a while i done a beachhead mission. Difficulty 115? We can do that ill bring the gods of rod Longbow 8V!

We spawn in. Immediatly on screen= Arrow turrets.

But everything went well as i able to counter battery the arrows before they could fire.

And then this happened. An arrow turret pops up from behind...and shoots me in the back at 200 meter.

I restarted the mission to confirm it and yeah...Chaos reign is awesome but my coal of invincibility i had is just gone.

Science. Its finding solutions to problems. Or improving existing solutions or realizing you found a worse one. I had 9 explosive mines and 6 blaze traps in my stash that i all found and decided to have fun. Can i take out a ground arc with them?

The answer is a grindy yes. I realized that the bombardier at buried city townhall had a narrow path. So i went in. I first observed its path. It comes down the middle towards the townhall, and then scuttles to the left to the back and returns. Simple enough. So i set my ambush in motion.

First trap was 6 explosive mines in a line. Placed directly in the narrow path. After some lengthy waiting it went it and the mines detonated. Dealing 914 damage. My guess is that the explosive radius dealt damage to numerous parts. Lo and behold its front legs were stripped of armor. However the moment the mines set off= the bombardier ipmediatly knows your location and counter batteries with its mortar.

Next up the blaze traps. Setting 2 rows of 3 on the middle path and the left path. After some clunky walking the bombardier was ablaze as all 3 traps went off. However it immediatly backed up. Still it dealt 588 damage. This time it lost some legs. The second row of blaze traps didnt worked as good as only 2 went off and the arc backed up. Dealing 288 damage. However it was critically damaged. Yet everytime i damaged it= it knew where i was and fired back.

At this point, an overzealous raider decided to engage it with an anvil from a room left of the townhall. The bombardier kindly showed him that was a bad idea.

I decided to use my last explosive mines on its rear, hoping it would scuttle into them. It did. The first mine finished it off with 108 damage. 8 hullcracker ammo some motion cores and 2 cells was the only prize because 3 raiders came out of nowhere and stripped the bombardier in seconds.

CONCLUSION=

-This method is totally resource and time inefficient. This costed 15 explosive compounds, 9 sensors, 12 oils and 6 wires (if i crafted them). A deadline takes only 3 exp compounds an igniter and 2 circuitry. Or a hullcracker 4 motion cores and 8 crude exp as ammo.

- It is a fun way to do it and i see potential in future weapons. Like an mine that only triggers on ARCs. Or give the explosive mine bonus arc damage.

- the damage dealt is random.

- You will aggro the arc. Even when hiding out of sight.

- You need to know the path of the arc. Making this very niche in deployment.

On new home, i salvaged an Urbanmech AIV. An urbanmech that crippled my Bullshark AIV. I was so impressed i decided to take it for a spin. It is a supreme and superior fighting machine that sended volley after volley of doom missiles at the blakists. It is the ultimate lifeform

So i was able to introduce several friends to MW5 over the years who never played or heard about MW/BT before.

Wich netted very intresting results when you enter a franchise knowing NOTHING about the factions.

2 of them have finished Chaos reign. Both have asked me= "where did comstar go and who is the word of blake?"

Should i tell them? So far i copied a quote from here and replied for now= religious space monks

Or should we wait and see what future DLCs bring and let them discover the...peace of blake on their own?

I have played mechwarrior for decades but it was finally time to read instead of play. Yesterday i asked for suggestions after getting my marauder book and everyone leaned towards the grey death legion. Well. They have already arrived!

So thank you all. For the wisdom and knownledge and suggestions

I got my first mech lore book. The bt universe book and i ventured into the novel department. I didnt know where to start but i saw pancreasnowork video about the black marauder and this one was only 11euro so i went for it.

Needless to say= i love. I need more BT novels and fast. Preferably novels about military campaigns or specific characters. From pre star league till jihad. I wanna savour my unknownings about the illkhan era lore. So dump your suggestions!

[I made this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mechwarrior5/s/NJCNwA14Vm) a while ago asking for PGI to add the Nightstar 9J since it restarts production.in 3057. WELL.I FOUND THAT OUT THE HARD WAY. one night start destroyed my BSK left torso and lvl5 gear and ripped the torso out of the A1.

But im still happy. Nightstar is one of my favorite assault mechs and it is HERE baby!
