the crow - dark vigilante movie with brutal action scenes, grimy streets with a gothic atmosphere
king of new york - shows organized crime with the backdrop of a gritty corruption filled new york
the warriors - another gritty new york but also heavily stylized without feeling campy, the city in this movie is super dystopian
i rewatched these 2 movies the other day and realized they share the same atmosphere of the batman if not darker
both are set in nyc depict it as a gnarly and nasty city thats littered with crime, drugs and gangs both organized and street
both have this kind of dystopian and apocalyptic kinda vibe with bright city lights but the only people who walk the streets are gangsters, cops and corrupt political figures
but an underrated aspect of these movies is their ability to still be gritty and grimy while being campy as hell
in king of ny all the gangsters are so stereotypical and overly dramatic its kinda hilarious, it also includes scenes of christopher walken straight murdering people and doing a funny dance right after, not to mention lawrence fishburne’s entire character
for the warriors i think the poster speaks for itself, a bunch of gangs who wear matching outfits and have some silly names with some having their own gang chants, theres gangs that wear baseball outfits with face paint and a bunch of wheres waldo lookin mfs with roller skates, also there’s a kung fu gang that wears tunics and is stationed underground
and if they decide to make part 3 a gang war kinda film that involves joker, two face, penguin, black mask etc these movies are good inspirations
i think its these 3
sm v ock - this is like the quintessential superhero fight scene, easily the best choreography of all the raimi films, plus it has the emotional payoff with the new yorker’s sticking up for peter
sm v goblin - this one has the big gut punch out of all with gwens death, has cool choreography but the stakes and build up to whats about happen is really what sells it
sm v the hand - easily the most saucy fight sequence in a spider-man movie ever and maybe in any marvel movie, and has a nice emotional payoff with >!may & jean in peters mind!<

heading into year 2 whats the expectation for these two receivers
like for example its funny when every time we see something that carti scrapped from 2021-2024 niggas always go and say “the label forced him to scrap it and become mainstream”
it’s funny bcuz his deal with interscope is only a distribution deal and he actually has full creative control over what he does and chooses to release
he prob doesn’t drop anything bcuz he just doesn’t fucking want to or because the song or the product is unfinished (example look at 70% of the leaks that came out in the last 18 months since music)
and for as to why music is the way it is it’s because he tried to please everyone as he literally had all eyes of him, even ppl that weren’t fans were waiting on him so he couldn’t really go for his true vision on the album, which is why even tho id say abt 80% of the album is good it sounds like a clusterfuck (ai, last min fts, open verses, reworked songs, and songs hes not even on)
not to mention swamp izzo said they had an entirely different tracklist rdy to drop but because he was prob paranoid abt the reception he decided to change it up and thats why it didn’t come out till like 6am
the only thing that label prob did was pressure him at like 5am to drop whatever he has ready bcuz he wasting the money they spent on promoting & distributing
also this nigga a real deal tweaker so thats def got sum to do w his decision making
