Flat monitor now looks convex after 5 years of using curved ultrawide monitor

I just switched from 34-inch 21:9 to 32-inch 16:9 a few hours ago, and am a little worried about the optical illusion I'm seeing. How long does it take for this to go away? It's making me feel a bit sick.

I notice it only happens when I look at big screens up close that fill up my peripheral vision, as I don't get the same effect when looking at a cinema screen or a laptop screen.

Is it harmful to plug in a docking station that delivers power to the laptop via usb-c when plugged in?

I have a docking station that only works if powered by an ac adapter, and automatically charges the laptop when connected to it via usb-c. I would like to use this docking station instead of buying a passive hub. I have an Alienware X16 R2.

1TB SSD

Nvidia RTX3500 graphics

Would you buy this?

Dell Precision 7750 worth it in 2026?

Cost is 900usd sold by a third party (they claim it's refurbished). Specs:

Processor: Intel Core i7-10850H

Memory: 32GB DDR4

Storage: 512GB NVME SSD

Graphics: Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 6GB DDR6

My usage is mainly for programming and running VMs (to simulate enterprise infra). I also do some light gaming on non-demanding games like dota 2, and occasionally edit vacation photos/videos in dxo photolab and davinci resolve. I don't really care about portability, it's more of a desktop replacement setup.

Any tea on zhishinn

Even by influencer standards she gives that very pretentious vibes. I'm wondering if she's really as friendly and bubbly in real life as she is on video.

Saikang warriors in the workplace, how did you frame your experience when interviewing for a new job?

I work in a tech consultancy and I'm the designated saikang warrior in my business unit. For the past few months, I have been pushed around to different failing projects to fix technical/administrative issues created by the predecessors.

I'm really tired of living the life of the "competent problem-solver" and want to leave my current firm. However, I'm not doing anything impressive or generating revenue. It's really more of "analyzed and fixed the issues, kept the project moving and gave the clients some renewed confidence". Am I screwed with this kind of work experience or is this something that the employers care about?

If it helps, I received a good rating during the most recent performance review to back it up, so it's not just fluff.

Someone left a 50c coin on the roof of our rental car

Does it mean anything in Australia or is it just a random prank?

Edit: it was in Perth CBD

How likely am I to receive a parking fine in Bunbury?

I'm a tourist in Bunbury, WA who carelessly exceeded 1/4 P street parking by 15 min because I did not know that adjacent sets of parking lots can have different parking duration limits. It was along Victoria St.

I'm interested in earning class 4/5 license to drive big specialized vehicles.

I understand that these are the main types of jobs and what I know about them:

- Prime mover drivers: usually does 12 hr shift at PSA porrs in Tuas or Pasir Panjang

- Mobile crane drivers: may also need crane operator license, but is the best paid driving job

- Tipper/cement truck drivers: need to make multiple trips per day and have lots of downtime in between the trips

For those who have worked these jobs before or know anyone who does, what are these jobs like in terms of day-to-day and salaries/benefits?
