beach Wagon with big wheels
Do the beach wagons with the really giant air filled wheels work? I have a normal wagon which does okay in wet flattter sand, but is utterly useless in our soft sand, I mostly just end-up dragging it.

we had a nice reservation at a sit down restaurant and a couple with two young kids were seated next to us. Once they got setttled the ipads came out and we had to listen to ms. rachel at full volume.
I told our waiter who said 'we would like to avoid confrontation when possible'
how is this fair to everyone else around them, that we all are subjected to their kids loud ipads?
also, as a parent you honestly can't keep your keep entertained for an hour instead of having them stare at a screen?
honestly, stay home next time.
I didn't think it was possible to see a more entitled family at the beach, but yesterday completely topped all of my interactions this summer (well...so far).
I get that people want shade. But these massive "Sun Shade" tents that can comfortably house a small army aren't just about shade anymore; they are about aggressively claiming territory.
This particular group decided to set up their beach compound pretty far back from the shoreline. As the day went on and the beach got crowded, other families started filling in the massive gap between their cabana and the water. This is just how beaches work.
Well, apparently, this did not sit well with the self-appointed Queen of the Sand and her view.
Later in the afternoon, sone of the families that had set up in front of them started packing up their stuff to head home. The "Karen" of the cabana group immediately grabbed her oversized JBL speaker, cranked the volume to max, and started actively blasting "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" directly at them as they were leaving.
She then decided the entire beach needed to suffer through her playlist. She proceeded to blast some of the absolute worst music I have ever heard, including a bizarre, hyper-upbeat dance remix of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody", along with several other atrocious remixes.
I want to come to the beach and listen to the waves, the wind, and general peacefulness. Is this a far out take?
DJ Karen, I hope a seagull poo'ed on you.
This is a super long shot, I met a very nice couple on the LIRR who flew in from Nashville ahead of the now postponed Jones Beach show.
Just wanted to say it was very nice chatting with you and I feel bad the show got postponed. Hopefully you can make it work out and stay until next week.
Hope the rest of your trip to the city goes well.
Back in the early aughts me and my closest friends were renting a house in a college town. The house was ok, not great, but more than livable.
Our landlord was a crazy older lady who I think was in way over her head not only owning property but renting to college aged kids in a college town.
We let her know in the middle of winter that our heat wasn't turning on.
What did she do?
She called the city water department to turn off the water too, so her pipes wouldn't freeze.
She called her "uncle" to try and fix the heat to no avail and then finally we called the city who lit a fire under her ass.
A proper plumbing company came out and fixed the boiler, it was a blown fuse or something but made much worse by the fixes the "uncle" did.
I think he felt bad for us, so he called an old friend who worked for the city and they got our water turned back on too same day.
How the hell that lady became a landlord was beyond me.
I understand the etiquette when setting up your chairs and umbrellas on the beach. This is how I approach things:
keep your space minimal don't take more than you need.
don't setup directly in front of someone so you block their ocean view, especially if you arrived there late.
don't blast music
keep ball playing away from everyone
clean up after yourself.
Overall don't ruin someone's good time.
Well, I have never experienced this in my 40+ years going to the beach.
Myself, the Mrs, and the boys went down to the beach and walked all the way left. I don't like to be near people I like to be close to the shore etc.
I start setting up and a young mom came over (out of her gigantic tent setup, to me and said "excuse me, but can you not set up here, I just put my infant to sleep and your boys look like they are going to be loud"
I thought she was kidding I stared back and her blankly.
Lady: "The baby is very upset today and I just got her to sleep".
Me: "sounds like your kid is louder than mine".
We moved over and found a spot. I am being crazy here is that insane behavior. Also it was Saturday, July 4th also the air show was going on right over head, which promptly woke up the baby.
This is for Monday's June 22 game.
Does anyone have any thoughts on who in New York could potentially join the band to play some fiddle?

Wonder if Warren Haynes is around as well.

Either way I am sure we will be joined by someone
My wife and I (we are 40 btw) were going out for a dinner date, we got a babysitter and a reservation at a nice restaurant.
We called an Uber and an incredibly nice 60ish older man picked us up.
We got talking and he told us we looked nice and we reminded him of him and his wife. He told us that he just likes driving and now that his kids have moved out he needs just something to do.
We got dropped off at our destination and he goes, ok you two kids have a lovely evening and be safe!
And then he waited until we got inside, and then waved to us once he knew we got in. Maybe I am overthinking it but both of our dads had recently passed and it's something my dad always did when he would drop me off somewhere.
Either way, he was a good guy and I wish him the best.
If the strike happens, what would be the last train to leave Penn station on Saturday evening?
Going to the Springsteen concert and would like to prepare in advance
