Built something for emergency situations at festivals and shows ❤️

Hey everyone 👋

Griztronics was insane. The energy, production, and crowd were unreal minus linetronics... 😅

I’ve been going to festivals and shows for years, and I’ve seen a few moments where someone needed urgent attention in a crowded environment. In those situations, the hardest part isn’t just getting help, it’s getting noticed quickly by staff, security, or medics.

So I built something called SOSS (Save Our Squad Signal).

It’s a simple tool where you hold one button and your phone becomes a bright distress signal using your screen and flashlight to help nearby staff, security, or medics spot you faster in a crowd.

You can also set up Squad Alerts to send your location to trusted contacts with one tap.

I’m not trying to say this is a complete solution. I’m just trying to build something useful and improve it with feedback from people who actually go to shows like this.

If anyone has thoughts on what actually helps in situations like this at packed events, I’d really appreciate hearing it.

Stay safe and show love, spread love ❤️

Built something for emergency situations at festivals and shows ❤️

Hey everyone 👋

I’ve been going to festivals and shows for years, and after seeing a few situations where someone needed urgent attention in a crowded environment, I started thinking about how hard it can be to quickly get staff or security to notice you.

So I built SOSS (Save Our Squad Signal).

It’s a free app that turns your phone into a bright distress signal using your screen and flashlight to help you flag down nearby staff, security, or medics in an emergency.

You can also set up Squad Alerts to send your location to trusted contacts with one tap.

I’m looking for a few Android ravers to test it and give honest feedback on what works and what doesn’t. It’s self-funded and built by a fellow festival-goer trying to solve a real-world problem.

Android beta:
https://expo.dev/accounts/soss-app/projects/soss/builds/d4b887ed-c50c-42cf-ba0c-58185814e148

iOS is in the works but requires a bit more setup on Apple’s side.

Would love feedback from this community. What would actually help in an emergency situation like this?

Stay safe and look out for each other ❤️

ISO app for upcoming semester

Looking for housing, furniture or just stuff in general? Check out this app I built for just that. Fb marketplace can work but wasn't built for ISOs. This was and it's free!

Sf giants gryffin night

Anyone else buy regular tickets and go early just to find out it was an add-on ticket? Super lame.

Anyone else dealing with major withdrawals this week?

Despite all the logistical challenges of getting in last weekend, that crowd was unmatched. #traumabondedforlife 🫶

Since the groups are flooded with people hunting for jerseys and missed drops, give this a look. First, definitely check the official merch site to see if they have what you need back in stock: https://shop.kt8merch.com/collections/griztronics/home

If you are still looking for exact gear matches, trades, or BuyNothing (plur) donations, I set up a specific Griztronics page on my app, ISO APP. This started as a self funded passion project built entirely for "In Search Of" requests.

I am hoping to refine this and dial it in so we have a reliable platform for gear swaps and merch matching at future festivals and events. It is in beta, so please check it out and let me know your thoughts on how I can improve it for the community: https://heyiso.app/signup?event=griztronics&code=GRIZTRONICS26

Building a tool to help students find cheap/free gear

Hey! An sjsu alum and a south bay local, building a side project called ISO App to help people find new, used or second-hand stuff without the endless marketplace scroll.

I grew up scavenging furniture from sidewalks just to get by, so I built this to flip the script. Instead of hunting through listings, you post what you need (an ISO) and let people find you with a fair price.

The goal is to help students get what they need at a price they can afford. It is early beta with more features coming, and I would love some brutally honest feedback.

Check it out at: https://heyiso.app/browse

Thanks!

I’m a South Bay local building a tool to help us find second-hand stuff easier. Could use some honest feedback."

Hi neighbors,

I grew up here in an immigrant family where we often had to scavenge for furniture and goods on sidewalks just to get by. That "one man’s junk" mentality stuck with me, but I've always hated how hard it is to actually find what you need on Craigslist or Facebook without scrolling for hours.

I’ve been working on a side project to flip that—instead of searching for what's for sale, you just post what you’re looking for (an ISO) and let people find you.

I'm currently testing this out in the South Bay and would love some brutally honest feedback from people who actually live here. Is this helpful? Is it confusing?

If you have a minute to check it out: https://heyiso.app/browse

Thanks for helping a local dev out!
