Signal Technician for Met council questions?

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for any signal techs that work for the met council I could ask some questions to and talk about the job. Ideally in DMs. I currently work for another RR company in the state and don’t want to face any potential ire from anyone. People are crazy here.

For some contexts I have been doing Signal work since I started 12 yrs ago.

Looking to answer some questions I had about the work, union strength, wages to be expected, pto, just general info from the people that are actually doing the job.

Thanks everyone.

Need advice on replacing my busted Dyson

Looking to replace my Dyson vacuum that went to crap!

Budget- ideally around the same price as a Dyson give or take.

Flooring- mostly hard flooring. I have a very low profile rug in family room and then carpeted stairs and short hallway that leads into rooms that have hard floors.

Additional needs- I have two dogs, one doesn’t shed at all and the other sheds enough for both of them. I know this community generally prefers corded and bagged units but I really genuinely love the convenience of my cordless. For context I have a robot vacuum that vacuums my main floor every day, so that helps.

I hope this helps paint a picture of what I’m looking for. I will not go back to a Dyson and I’m trying really hard to steer my partner away from shark. If you have additional questions let me know and I’ll do my best to respond promptly. Thanks everyone!

Storm door replacement. How to get measurements with the existing door currently installed.

Hey all, as the title suggests I’m trying to get measurements for new storm door. Everything I seen online for gathering measurements is for if there is no door currently installed. Is it possible to get the proper measurements with the old door currently installed? I really don’t want to take it off (yet) as it still works. Just looks long in the tooth. Help me cross this item off my honey do list please lol.

Thanks everyone!!

Kayak Camping

Hey everyone! I’m gonna be going on a kayak camping trip in about a month (first one ever for me). I’m just curious on what tents people are using for stuff like this? I’m torn between the big Agnes copper spur 2 and the Paria outdoors Bryce 2 and one of the million different variations of Nemo tents. Looking for a solid recommendations that wouldn’t absolutely cripple me financially. I know the saying is buy once cry once but man some of these tents are crazy expensive. Thanks everyone!

Edit: changed would to wouldn’t. I definitely do not want to be financially crippled.

Also thanks for all the input!

Garage storing via pulley system.

Hey gang!

Just got my very first kayak! A beautiful wilderness systems tsunami 145 that I have dubbed, Gracie Law (my Big Trouble in Little China fans will know). Anyway, I just got my tie boss pulley system in the mail today and before I got it set up I had question for anyone using that or similar system. My garage has open ceiling, ie visible rafters. My question is would it be ok to throw some eye screws right into the bottom of my rafters for mounting? I also have a few spare 2x6s that I could lay across the rafters and mount it to those too. I’m just curious as to which one would be safer and more structurally sound. So excited to be part of the community!

Thanks everyone!

Ps I added a picture of Gracie Law hopefully to see the inspiration for the name.

Edit: changed the flair as it isn’t a transporting or roof rack question.
