root barnacles?

this pothos has been growing so well, but i've started to notice these white things forming on the roots. is this something to be worried about?

this is NOT a finished tank by any means, i promise it wont be this bare when my gecko goes in.

is a carpet of moss like this too much?

found 3 in my crestie's cage after a drop of her mix was left on top of her tank🤪

she's been evacuated into a quarantine set-up for now!

for other people who have had to replace their substrate in a bioactive tank: can i just dump the dirt outside??

i'd feel like an awful person putting so many isopods in the trash. id prefer to put them out in the garden, but im not sure if that would lead to other catastrophes.

if anyone has advice on the best ways to de-ant a tank or relocate my substrate, id love to hear it!
