Predicted XI vs. Ireland

Nothing surprising really.

Crepeau more than likely gets the nod here meaning he'll be the starter for the world cup. Dayne just hasn't done anything to convince me he should start moving forward, largely through no fault of his own.

Bombito comes back in after an injury scare. He's in modified training today, I believe he'll still start and push for 45-60. After that LDF will/should take over. Would prefer LDF start as he and Derek will seemingly be our starters June 12th, but it also seems they want to give Bombito every chance possible.

Laryea is perfectly fine apparently even after subbing out at 30.

Tani comes in for Larin. Nearly a 3 assist performance in 45 minutes means you have to ride that out. Larin's still showing the same faults he has under Marsch, I just don't think he fits this particular system.

Changes from Marsch heading into Montreal...

From the starting 11, who's going to be replaced for Ireland?

Bombito, Laryea & Larin are the only 3 I see being replaced potentially.

I see a world where Bombito starts and they try to ramp him up as much as possible. He's obviously incredibly important to this team and Jesse would want to give him every chance possible to get back to where he was, but we also can't do this gimmick much longer. The more likely option and it's where I lean, LDF comes in and starts ahead of him. Alfie isn't ready, Waterman's a last resort & Priso remains a ?

Hard to tell with Laryea as there wasn't much news on him post-game. He did look better than Bombito if you were to compare their stints. I think him starting again on Friday and ramping up to 60 is in play.

Larin just didn't have it again tonight unfortunately. His hold up play is probably his best asset but everything else remains a net negative. Tani came on and had 2 nearly 3 assists in just 45 minutes, have to imagine that counts for something. Neither are particularly great when it comes to finishing, I do think Tani did and continues to do the little things better and probably starts Friday off the back of that.
