What’s the most random thing you’ve seen on vinted?

I’ve sent many unhinged things but this (shark / ray egg cases) caught me off guard. This isn’t necessarily unhinged, just… unexpected?

Are there any cons with selling to someone abroad from the uk?

So someone from Australia really wants a pair of shoes I’ve listed. It’s one of those listings that has so many likes, but no one’s bought it. It’s a pretty pricy listing, but I do want to sell it asap as I’m decluttering.

Theres a little disclaimer (‘price may change slightly based on the exchange rate’) so I’m not sure whether that means I’ll potentially get paid differently than what the buyer is offering in GBP. Is there any other thing I should consider when selling to someone outside of the uk?

Thanks a ton! I’m not used to this

Owners need to start being honest about their dogs during meet and greet

This has been in my mind for so long.
Owners have to STOP saying that their dog is perfect / so chill when they have specific triggers. It dosent matter if it’s not or small… just PLEASE mention it!! This happens so much, some including: hates men, hates x type of dogs, will try to run off if it smells food, hates children (this was bad).

My latest one: had a meet and greet with a small dog and owner, and he seemed sweet- only warning she gave was that he stays on the leash, but loves people and other dogs! I always make sure to ask about the dog’s behaviour towards different surroundings etc.

Anyway during the day care… he got barky / snarling at random people. We’re talking lunging and gurgling. Honestly I was so taken back. I messaged the owner about this at the beginning of our walk and she didn’t reply for hours. I decide to stay clear of people just incase, but this dog tried to lunge at a dude like 5m away. And then towards the end- we were sitting in the park and he got extra gurgly when another dude is just walking on the path where we were sat. I acted out of reaction and tried to hold him back by his chest (although he was leashed), and he nipped at me- there’s was abit of blood but nothing major. At this point Im bamboozled by his behaviour and took him home, where he was actually sweet for the most of it. Except he started to resource guard a shoe that my flatmate needed to wear out. I think he would’ve bit one of us if we tried to get it back.

The owner only replies when she’s on her way to pick him up, and said ‘he doesn’t really do that, that’s very strange’. I explained in every detail when she came, and her stance changed- she was like ahh he gets ‘protective’ (her words) when ‘some people’ who: walk at a certain distance, walk by when we’re seated, or come around the corner. She’s kind of being vague about ‘some people’ and then she giggles (??) and asks me: oh were they black? And actually- most of them were, since we live in an area with large black population. She drops a further bombshell by saying he often gets angry towards men especially 😭

I am so annoyed that the owner didn’t mention these at all during the meet and greet, this is wild to me!! And the fact that she messaged obliviously confuses me so much. This isn’t fair for the sake of both the dog AND the sitter’s safety!! I don’t know what to do because the owner was really sweet other than this, but the way she handled this and kind of laughed about it is getting on my nerves. This was her first time having a dog sitter and she said she was so pleased with how it went, and messaged me to enquire about further dates. I don’t know what to do!

But yeah- this is a rant… that also turned into a question at the end. Any advice / similar stories welcome! This seems to happen so much.

Are these rose gold birks real?

I just bought these on eBay, as they were in good condition.

My old pair were worn to death- so idk if I was really used to them (white arizonas, leather) but these feel slightly different. I did a reverse search on them and couldn’t find a single same pair either.
Please help! Thank you

Dog walkers of UK- what do you do if an owner insists on walks during hot weather (30+)

Hey-

So I have a couple of owners who still insist on walks at hot weathers (30+). I’ve tried to politely ask them to swap to a check in / cancel, but they always say something along the lines of: oh he’s fine, just stay in the shade. I did carried on normally last year and remember getting really upset when one told me that their dog should be walked at 34 degrees.

This year I really want to put my foot down. There’s one dog I walk everyday, and he’s super high energy. He’s already panting so much at 27 degrees- I mentioned it to the owners and they told me to wet his hair and take a slow walk in the shade. But in all honesty- prolonged amount of time in the sun isn’t fun for me either.

My worry is that the owners might think: are you telling me how to take care of MY dog? Kind of my vibe.

I would really love some advice. I think there’s a lot of US based users here, and I just wanted to point out that 30 degrees in London is very unpleasant, and generally it’s discouraged to take your dog out. I’ve met so many owners recently who were talking about their hot weather logistics (early hour/ evening walks).

Any insight would be great. Thank you!

How honest are you with reviews for buyers? Buyer low balled/ pestered to post asap

Hey all!

Usually I give a seller / buyer five stars for most occasions. I’ve only even given less than that, when a new condition jumper came in a less than satisfactory condition.

I recently sold a top. It was already £7 but I took a maximum discount offer from a buyer as I just wanted it gone. She then tried to further discount by £1, I declined.
Right after purchase (10.30pm) she asked if the item could be posted asap- she messaged again next day noon saying she’d like it before her holiday. Our local post office wasn’t working (I tired to post morning after)so I said realistically I can only post in about 3 days, maybe 2 but I have a late shift that day. She asked if it could be posted in two days is possible.
It took me three days and I apologies for it- honestly with the work trip, I had no time. She left me on read which is fine? But maybe she was pissed off as she’d reply within minutes before.

I was wondering how honest you guys are with reviews when it comes to buyers. To be honest she was polite through it, but I despise it when people ask multiple times to be posted by x date after purchase- let alone trying to discount further a heavily discounted, already cheap item.
Thanks!

Owners keep asking me to walk their dog from the groomers to the house- but he gets CRAZY

Hey all,

Ive been walking this dog week everyday for the last 1/2 year.
He’s a cockapoo. He’s really intense in many sense and pretty untrained despite being smart. He can be super vocal, and will scream / shrill and bark frantically when theres a ball involved… he really overworks himself and almost starts hyperventilating. It’s really strange and we get a lot of stares from people. For this reason I just strictly do walks with him now, and he’s actually mostly fine without an object of obsession.

The owners keep asking me to pick him up from the groomers and walk to theirs- our walks are 30 mins, and on google maps the walk should take 26 mins. However- this dog absolutely LOSES it after getting groomed. I can always hear he’s been crying from the moment I walk in (the groomer today was literally like: yeah he’s very vocal…every time), and it’s almost like a scream? He sounds like he’s shouting and whining at you at the same time. On our way home, he is really restless and exhibits intensified behaviours (trying to jump on other dogs and myself restless steps / eyes and high alert). The main thing is that he continuously tries to rub himself against me, whilst crying loudly. He also cries manically whenever we stop, like waiting for the light to change and me picking his poo up. The groomers give him a snood thing to protect his ears after they’ve been cleaned, and he hates it. It needs to be adjusted multiple times during our walk and again- he cries intensely when I do it and thrashes around. Often he’ll pull really hard at a certain direction to rub his body on whatever and have occasionally thrash around on his leash. All in all this takes us to 40 minutes by the time we reached the house. Oh also- there’s usually some wait at the groomers to pick him up.

After my second time doing this, I wanted to let the owners know what I would prefer not to do pickups. However today they messaged me few hours before the walk to say he will need to be picked up at the groomers. I couldn’t say no as they would have no time to arrange anything else and this wasn’t discussed in prior. And the walk home was super stressful again- my schedule and bookings are regimented and we barely made it home just past 30 minutes with INTENSE power walking, which made things even more stressful.

Honestly I’ve been dog walking for some time but have not seen a dog act out this much and I find it too stressful. He can be fine on walks with certain rules but after groomers is a whole different story. I get that dogs can behave differently post grooming but I don’t want to be responsible for *this* dog and I feel like it’s more than I signed up for. I’ve been asked every time on the streets whether he’s ok, because he is so vocal and I feel like people are judging me. I’m really unfussy with walks and never cancel, rain or shine, unless I’m severely ill. But I feel this pushed my limit.

I really want to tell them that I won’t be able to do this route in the future as the dog is too agitate after the walk.

Is this fair? Do I tell them now or next time (although I worry they’ll leave it super last min again). The clients and I have a courteous but professional relationship but I’m worried they’d be pissed off.

Thanks guys.

Edit: I know I can say no, and I’m getting some hate for this. However ,up until today they were under the impression that this is just another walk and had NO other means of getting this dog home as they both work. Should we have already established this and they pushed it- I would’ve had more ground to turn this request down

What are your irrational fears?

Mine is a cockapoo named Bella. Followed closely by Luna and Coco.

This was a running joke until I had a booking from… a cockapoo called Bella. Long story short- the dude who owned it threw a tantrum when I wouldn’t give him a discount & also said the dog was super easy / friendly- she pulled like crazy and turns out she’d go berserk if a guy walked too close to us 😃

Pls share your irrational fears!

Are these Manolos real?

I bought these from a second hand site. I adore them design wise but can’t seem to find other models of these online.
Can anyone help to identify whether these are real? Thanks!

Buyer is pushing item to be posted by a certain date AFTER buying

I sold a new item for fraction of the price on Tuesday eve. It was one of those cases where it was getting tons of likes but I accepted an offer that was 40% off (£10->£6) because I'm decluttering. She asked a question then tried to discount it further by £1? I rejected and she bought, but I found it cheeky lol.

She bought it at night when I was asleep, and immediately asked when it would be shipped.
She messaged again at noon yesterday (few hrs after her last one) asking when the item is going to be posted as she'd like it for holiday. I tried to post before work that morning with our local relay shop, who said their system was down so I told her so- this meant I'd have to do it at a drop off point around work either Friday or Saturday. Idk what to do because she's lowkey pushing me to post on Friday. Honestly I've no idea when we're getting back from work (away for it from yesterday until tomorrow) that day and I can’t hurry back just because of this. Most of my items are posted within 48 hrs unless there's an issue, this morning being one.

I appreciate she's being polite but find it so annoying that she didn't ask this before purchase. Idk how she'd react if I didn't post 'on time’ (with an unfair review or something). What should I do?

Would you accept a last minute boarding request without a meet and greet?

Hey all,

This afternoon I received a request for 6 day cares (11.30am-10.30pm) starting this Thursday until next Tuesday, everyday. The dog has ZERO info on his profile, just one photo. The owner’s tone strikes me as someone who isn’t used to a sitter or this app, which happens.

She gave me what appears to be a care information in one message, and added that infact she’d be needing one extra day and it’s a boarding situation not a daycare. I messaged her later to say that I was free to call, and also asked whether she would be free for a meet and greet beforehand. She just replied (22:30) to say she can call now and kind of suggested video call instead of meet and he set? A video call for meet and greet?

I’ve had a couple of less than ideal requests recently (potential dump situation & client being difficult / aggressive about pricing etc) so I’m alittle more on edge than usual. So far I haven’t done a boarding request without a meet and greet but I also understand she needs a sitter v last minute.

What is your take on this? I think no info on the dog (other than the usual ‘my dog is easy’ kind of message- I often take this with a pinch of salt as I’ve had difficult dogs in the past with no apt care info etc, just the owner saying how nice the dog is ) / last minute boarding request/ no response on irl meeting is making abit nervous.

Thanks!

E wire gold frame legit check

Hey all,

I’m after a pair of e wires and wanted to ask about this pair.

I had a pretty thorough search on Reddit about legit / fake checks but don’t think I fully grasp it, especially alittle confused about the screw / no screw on nose pad situation. I would really appreciate some tell tale signs of e / c wire fakes that would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

I swear I’d disabled all my printer postage options?

Hey all,

I swear some months ago I disabled all my printable postage options on vinted (since I do not own one).

Someone just bought via Royal Mail and it’s come with a printable label! Someone else had bought an item a couple of days ago but that was RM QR code.

I’ve just checked my postage option and I swear the way sellers select postage options have changed, as I no longer see mentions of printer/ no printer.

Not sure what to do!😞

Sent me a super low ball offer and asked a string of blunt niche questions. Got ghosted after this 😞

These ones she wears when Bond is recovering at Lake Como.

She looks amazing in this scene, and her green linen dress isn’t talk about enough (apparently custom made?). However, does anyone know where they sourced her earrings? Lots of vaguely similar ones but love these in particular.

Not Sophie Harley- the maker of Vesper’s Algerian love knot necklace.

Hey all,

Last night (8pm) I received a boarding request- I initially thought it was for a couple of days but realised it was for A MONTH + two days. Starting that evening, ASAP.

The profile was new and had minimal info about the dog. I received the following message- I was genuinely sorry to hear about the situation but something didn’t sit right with me. The dog’s bio simple said ‘reactive dog. Barks at other dogs. At home lovely but needs attention’. No other info like vet, adoption date etc.

I turned down the request for various reasons (new and unknown client/short notice/extended stay)- since there were no reviews etc, I wondered whether the owner’s bio was underplaying characteristics of a problematic dog. I also wondered if there was a potential for abandonment / if they’re trying to offload the dog on me. Something feels off but I can’t put my finger on it.

Is this concerning? Has anyone had similar?
