ISO: A place to land in the city of brotherly love.

Hello!

This will be a bit long, but tl;dr is more or less that I’m a creative and outgoing guy looking to leave suburbia for city life and I’m tired of waiting for a job to grant me permission to move. People make it work and I want to be one of them. I have some savings and a hunger for something dynamic, and figure Reddit has always served me well in connecting with like-minded people.

I’m open to renting a room, a studio, or an alternative living arrangement like artist co-housing as long as it’s stable, safe, and a place for growth.

For the last year or so there has been a little voice in my head urging me to move to Philadelphia. It started with small things like seeing Philly in shows/media constantly, to then hearing songs on my Spotify about the city.

I grew up in Northern Colorado in a smallish city, and outside of a brief stint in the south of France I have never lived in a walkable, mixed-use, public transit oriented city and I have absolutely reached my limits on car dependent urban sprawl where people are either at home, work, or the bar.

I know Philly isn’t a utopia, but it’s a big step up from where I’m at and from what I’ve read it has a great community of artists and makers.

So, I’m looking for a place to land that won’t break the bank while I find my footing. I have some savings but would love to not burn through them entirely. I know the job market is likely going through the same thing everywhere, but I think I’ll have much more luck if I’m already in the city rather than applying from across the country.

Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg did not disappoint!

Please enjoy this little highlights reel I made - it doesn’t even begin to cover everything.

Hoping you’re on here mister train driver!

Thanks Berlin for another wonderful visit, especially to those who came swimming with me a few days ago. Can’t wait to return.

Müggelsee Sunday!

Hey Berlin! I made this post yesterday looking for some swimming companions and was thrilled by all of your suggestions and comments.

I’ve made plans with another Redditor to meet up at Müggelsee today for some swimming and a picnic.

If anyone would like to join us today, please feel free to send me a direct message or comment down below. We’re planning on being out at Kleiner Müggelsee around noon.

Would love to swim today!

Hello Berlin! I’m visiting from Colorado, USA until the 16th and I’m really wanting to head out to one of the lakes in the area to go for a swim. FKK or not is fine, I just want my body to be in a body of water with some other bodies too if anybody wants to join me!

I’ve researched and Teufelssee is definitely at the top of my list, but I’m always interested in the local communities suggestions and even better to enjoy their home through their eyes.

I’m staying in Mitte, and I have the DB card so happy to make a day out of it (Picnics are always fun)

UPDATE

Looks like plans for a BBQ/Hangout at Müggelsee are now underway for tomorrow. So far it’s two of us, but I’m happy to include others as well! If you’re interested in joining please feel free to comment or send me a DM ✨
