Do you have a story of queer chosen family?

Hi everyone! I am a queer documentary photographer who is newly based in Philadelphia. I am interested in finding stories about queer chosen families and would love to hear your story! Are you or someone you know part of a queer family? This could be a group of close queer friends, a drag family, ballroom house, queer parents or children, adopted family or anything that speaks to the topic. As a queer person myself, I see how important it is to form bonds with other queer people, especially in circumstances where our blood family may not support us. I believe storytelling can be a powerful tool in breaking down barriers and giving representation where we are often left out of the conversation. Do you have a story you'd like to share? Please feel free to send me a message!

Queer groups in the surrounding Philly area?

My partner and I just moved to PA, and we are trying to find community events that wouldn't always require us to make a full trip out to Philly and deal with the traffic. We are staying in Media for the next two months, and then will be settling fully in Gwynedd Valley. I haven't had much luck finding information online about events or groups in either of these areas yet, so I figured I would ask people who have lived in PA longer than myself. Thank you!

Haird stylist for an old trans gal?

I'm a late in life transfemme, and I'm wondering if anybody knows a good stylist who can deal with someone who's in the beginning stages of growing out their hair. I've always had more of a traditional butch haircut, but I'm now trying to grow it out and look more femme. Bonus points if this hairdresser knows what to do with gray hair and bald spots!

Thanks all, love you lots.

Trauma informed doctors?

I'm specifically looking for some guidance around reproductive care. Googling doesn't provide much context, so I wanted to ask around about potential care in the city.

Thanks in advance.

Where to go for sex positive bars or events that have play spaces?

Hi everyone. I am visiting the Philly area for some graduations. I am coming from San Francisco which has a litany of sexy options most days of the week. Be it various underwear nights or bars with dedicated dark room areas etc. There are also lots of events and parties that feature sex positive elements.

Is there anything like this in the Philly area? Don’t mind purchasing a ticket if need be but would also like to go where the locals go to experience a little hedonism.

Thanks in advance ✨✨✨

Edit.

I’m a cis gay Black and Puerto Rican male. But don’t need the space to only be male centered. Fine with others from the alphabet mafia getting it on but I’d like other queer cis men present for my play as well.

Therapist search

I know this is a lot, but I was looking for a queer friendly therapist who specializes in other modalities besides talk therapy. Examples, EDMR, ERP, and somatic practices, including the option of telehealth and accepting insurance. I have OCD so talk therapy hasn't worked for me in the past but I still need therapy.

sublet?

hi gays,

my ex and i are selling the shared house and I can't understand a lot of it, but we have to be out by June 5th. I was hoping for an apt by then, but I don't have proof of what i could put down since I won't have it until the 5th.

Where could a gal and her sassy cat stay for june while apartment hunting for july? Trying to avoid hotel/airbnb. Sublets?

Appreciate all help!

I recently went through a traumatic event and it brought out the worse in me and I lost my friends and now I don’t feel I have a place anymore. The shame and guilt has me crying every day. I feel like going back in the closet and just walking in the shadows again. I am on my knees crying to god.

Anyone know of transmasc events in the city? Heard Bikestop hosts regular meetups but can't find details 😭

I just want to meet with more transmasc people and places where it's safe to be openly a transman.

Transmasc Pride Event?

Hey y'all, I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about the Trans Masc: Beyond Visibility event that's listed in this article? It has a date in the article but no supporting information, like where it's being held and at what time. Thanks in advance!

In search of the Philadelphia queer cowboy

Is there anything in Philadelphia like NYC's Big Apple Ranch--that is, a place where us queer folk can get together and two-step and enjoy country music and/or cowboy stuff?

Pride 2026

Hey y’all, For the last four or five years my partner and i have celebrated pride in Philly. This year they’re moving it out of the gayborhood and charging which i think is heinous. Are there any other pride events in NJ, PA, DE that anyone can recommend? I know there are a lot of others but I don’t know if they’re worth going to or not. Thank u! 🌈

Dancing in the dark?

So what's the best club or bar in Philly for some actual dancing that is not lit like a Walmart?

I don't dance remarkably well, but I want to flail and jump and roll in the dark and without 300 straight 22-year-olds standing around me. Thanks!
