Can I pick up shifts at another store?

I have been offered a job, not officially, since there's a process, but basically. Unfortunately, I applied for the full-time position and got called, so I assumed it was for full-time hours. It's not. They said they could only guarantee me 30 hours a week, and that puts me paycheck to paycheck. I only need like $200 more a month.

Is it easy/possible to pick up shifts, maybe at other stores?

Considering general manager position

I have been lurking here trying to get a feel for the average Petco worker and my consensus is that you're all miserable.

What is it that you would need from a general manager to better do your job? What do you usually feel that they fail at? I understand that this is a highly metric driven company and that everything comes second to that. Unfortunately, it makes sense coming from a business standpoint. How hard is it though to care for the animals and what is often overlooked?

I am just seeing what there might be to ponder as I consider this job. Thanks. Also, feel free to use this opportunity to vent! I don't mind. I think it'll be beneficial to hear.

[Oregon] Denying a job offer due to low pay?

So, I want to say first that I have not applied for this job, but when I was in the process of doing so, my boyfriend said I shouldn't. The job I am looking at said that the pay rate is somewhere between $17 and $24 an hour, depending on experience, and my experience would make me super qualified, so I thought I had grounds for negotiation.

After doing the math and planning out bills and the minimum needed to survive, I need at least $22 an hour at full-time. I thought that I could apply to this position and see where it goes. If they do not want to offer me at least $22, I would move on. It didn't occur to me that applying and then denying an offer might bite me in the butt later. It seemed pretty logical to me.

How am I supposed to apply to places like this when I am receiving unemployment? What are the chances that denying a job offer because of this will affect my unemployment? How do audits work?

New fan and I don't think I can finish the game

SO I am a long-time FF fan, but I am also a workaholic with very little free time, so gaming isn't something I have had excessive time for as an adult. I was recently laid off, though, and like many people right now, finding a job is just not coming as easily as it once did.

I found myself going stir crazy and NEEDING something new to obsess over. A new game. A new show. Something. So, I decided to pick up FFXV. It's always intrigued me and seemed like something I would enjoy, but I just never had the time. I am a completionist, and I love a game that has a ton of side quests and an open world. Seemed like a good fit... and it has been.

It was sorta cringe at first, but I've fallen in love with it. Naturally, though, because I am really good at doing this to myself, I've had some stuff spoiled for me. Now, I LOVE angst, and I love a really messed-up story where the characters really go through it, but usually only if it amounts to something happy in the end. This time though, I find myself adoring these characters SO much that I actually don't want to see them sad. At all. Especially if the ending is not open (where I can speculate and make it better in my head).

Sucks too that I can't dive headfirst into a fandom to drown out the emptiness. This fandom seems super dead, and I literally have never joined a dead fandom before.

Hey, I run a pet supply store in the Pacific NW, and our best-selling brand (and what I feed my dogs) has just announced a substantial price increase. I do not believe it has been made public, but seeing as I am now warning my customers and looking for alternatives, I thought I'd toss it in here as well as a warning to any of you that may be familiar with the brand.

Northwest Naturals, a relatively large brand that recently reformulated to remove all synthetic nutrients from its products, has just announced one of the largest price increases they've ever done.

MSRP is going from $165.99 to $211.99 for what I feed, which is the 25lb box of their raw turkey formula. Now, it depends on the store and what their markup is, but pretty much every single line of theirs is going to have a price increase that is this substantial. Our markup is only 35% for food, so we'd be selling it for $195.99, but that's still BONKERS, seeing as we currently sell it for $138.99.

Anyway, I know of a lot of brands, and I'm already doing my research, but I was wondering if anyone had any brands they would recommend as an alternative :) This post is also serving as a warning to those who may be feeding their pets this product.

Oh! And the brand released a statement to stores saying that basically, their reason for the price increase is because they've been absorbing the cost of all the price increases over however many years, and they just don't want to do it anymore. Or can't. Shits tough right now. They can't afford to eat the cost any more than their consumers can. They'll be losing a lot of customers.

There's already been whispers about how the business may be going under, but... ya know how rumors can be. Makes me wonder how real they were, though.
