Why did Sadeas never....

Rhythm of war spoiler tag since Amaram Sadeas thingy

But why did Sadeas never have kids?

Gavilar had 2, Dalinar had 2, Ehlokhar had 1. If Adolin had been able to hold a relationship long enough he might have had a kid by the time of Stormlight 1

Sadeas wasn't stupid, he had to have known that eventually he will die and his HighPrincedom would need an heir to succeed him.

Sadeas had that curvaceous woman, they were as in love as one could expect of them I think.

Even if Sadeas couldn't produce biological heirs, he would certainly have an heir named of one of his vassals

The Amaram thing seems to come out of left-field in my opinion. And the Amaram thing could still be done if Sadeas had kids too young to assume the duties of high prince

RCA Grievance Pay?

I filed and won a grievance for being mandated to another town after casing and carrying a full route in my home station.

It was probably incorrect but I was told it would pay me a certain $/hour

For 4 hours total (including travel time. The office I was sent to was 40 minutes away).

My grievance paid out $36, which after taxes was $24. That seems stupid low for a punishment/recompense for breaking contract

Is that payment about average?

RCA, Can I switch from a 5/1 aux/k route to a 6 day aux/aux routes?

Hi y'all, I'm an RCA. I currently have a "hold down" on a 3.17 hour AUX route and sub on an 8.2 hour K route

Can I give up the K route and become the primary relief on 2 AUX routes at the same time? The combined hours of the AUX routes are like 6.5 hours.

We don't have PTFs in our office

I would end up having a much more stable and reliable workload/paycheck every week

Mainly asking y'all if it's possible because my PM would just say "nah" whether I could or not

Rural and Locking Mailboxes

What do I do if a locking mailbox on my route fills from being vacant?

If a normal mailbox gets too full, we pull the mail and leave a note, holding the mail for 10+ days until return to sender

Can't grab the mail out of a locking mailbox without breaking the lock. Do we just leave it there forever and stop servicing the mailbox? What is the proper procedure?

(I've also heard ppl say locking mailboxes are not approved on rural routes, idk about that though. Thoughts?)

RCA Vehicle advice please, is this old vehicle a good enough purchase?

$2500 for 143k miles is a steal in my area. Plus it's a RHD from the get-go

It's nearly 30 years old though, but my thought process is that'll make it easier to repair than newer vehicles are. Maybe parts will be harder to come by

Seller posted a video of the engine revving up and it sounded alright

Sellers post said he would use it for trail riding. In my area that means woods, creeks, hills, and long grass. Should I be worried about any of that?

Seller says only problem is the steering box starting to slip, the part for that is $180 idk about the mechanics costs

What are yalls thoughts? Sorry if improper post just trying to gauge other carriers thoughts

RCA AC flooding house, can I use household emergency for a couple days off?

I'm outside my 90 days.

Woke up this morning with water on the floor by my AC.

PM laughed when I asked for a couple week days off to handle it. She said maybe in 3-4 weeks she could manage it. I can't wait that long, I've been working 6 days a week for months now

What does it take to do emergency leave, will I get in trouble, what do I have to worry about, etc?

Thank you, sorry for errors posting this while at work

Split Wall AC/Heater leaking from front

Yeah yeah I know the machine is filthy, working on that as well. Camera flash is REALLY good at showing how dirty it is

The front of my AC started leaking water out of the front the other day. The gray bowl-like area in the front underneath the power buttons fills with water and then drips

I've had no problems with this AC in the 2-3 years I've had it, until now

I've been sucking the water out with a tool to drain it, it fills back up in about a day.

The rear was filled with water, I drilled holes and it's draining fine now, stays dry mostly

I don't see any drain line or anything I can shopvac suck.

What to do?

RCA, nearby town needing way too much help

Hey y'all, just wanting to vent and get some opinions I guess

For awhile now (6+ months at least), a nearby town 28 miles away has been needing more and more and more help

Both of our offices are similar in size, they have 5 RCAs we have 7

Every day of next week at least 3 of our 7 RCAs are scheduled to work in the nearby town, and 1 of our RCAs are on AL all week. Leaving us with 3 RCA's all week

Scheduling emergencies are an almost every day thing, a single call out means we have to split up routes 3+ ways

Yesterday I did my AUX route and was supposed to split a full route after I was done. When I was done with my part of the split I found out that the RCA that was supposed to do the other half was sent to the other town by our PM. My PM wasn't even in the office that day, so our head clerk had to call me to let me know and beg me to keep working the route

The neighboring town has held a job fair and has had job postings up for awhile every time I check, they say the POV requirement is turning away a lot of applicants

Next week alone our office is costing the post office $710+ in mileage just traveling between the offices for the employees scheduled to help out, not even counting the extra pay for others covering or the non-scheduled help we will send them

Does my PM get kickbacks for sending help to other offices? It definitely feels like my PM cares more about that other office than making sure their office is taken care of

I love being rural and I'm next up for career, or else I'd be looking for another office. I guess my only option is to survive the suck

RCA unsafe road, or am I just overreacting?

There's one road on the route I sub on, I hate it.

It's short, but it's made of 10% rocks, 20% loose gravel, and 70% red clay, and it's on an incline.

The rain has carved ruts that my entire tire fits in, I scrape the bottom of my vehicle if I don't hit it *just* right, and pray I don't slide off the main roadway into the trees

Apparently there's issues on where the road begins and their driveway starts (just the one address on an offshoot road), so the city is fighting on road maintenance responsibility

I've been leaving notices in the mailbox for the past couple days for packages too big for the box, customer requests redelivery multiple times in a row

I guess I could park my vehicle and hike the package down the road, until I get a more rugged vehicle

2006 Hyundai Tucson not accelerating after Oil Change Yesterday

I run mail for USPS out of an old Hyundai Tucson I bought from a previous mail carrier. It's at about 210,000 miles (that's high, I know. Probably time to get a new vehicle)

I ran my route yesterday just fine, went and got an oil change after the route, and noticed the problem on the way home from the oil change. The problem is worse this morning when I tried to go to work

The sticker on the oil change thing says they used 5w-30. I normally used 5w-20, but Google says both can work

If I press on the gas pedal, the vehicle revs/accelerates for about 1 second, then acts as if it doesn't receive any further feedback from the gas pedal

If I can get up to cruising speed, I can maintain that. But it takes a LOT of time coming from a complete stop (like I have to at mailboxes)

Google searches say that it's maybe the wrong oil, too much oil, or maybe something to do with my transmission oil

I ended up calling off work today because mail running is not safe if the vehicle can't get going when I need it to

Any ideas? Thank you

CropsNH crops, most important seeds?

Hey y'all,

I'm in steam age prepping to make my first lv machines

I've made max stat seeds in cotton, stone lilly, sand lilly, clay lilly, slime tree saplings, slime ball bushes, and sugar cane. I feel like i have most of the seeds I'd need to replace going and grabbing natural stuff like sand and clay

For material plants, I reckon I should get copper, tin, iron, eventually aluminium, calcite, and gypsum plants.

With all of those plants I'm able to grow all the materials for coke ovens and blast furnaces

Any plants that are game-changers that I'm missing?

Scanner says Signature Required, package has nothing to indicate that?

RCA

The past couple weeks I'm getting packages that don't say anything extra than any other package, but scanner makes me collect a signature

Today I had one that the scanner said I needed an 18+ signature, but the package basically looked like any other TEMU package.

RCA to PTF for AUX routes

There are 3 AUX routes in our office's jurisdiction. I have a hold down on one of them, another RCA has a hold down on one of them, and the last one is vacant.

What I WANT is to be made a PTF that handles the 2-3 AUX routes every day 6 days a week, giving up my Saturday where I sub on a full route.

Whenever I'm pulled off of my hold down to cover for a call-in on a full route, management has to scramble to get the AUX routes covered. And most of the time it's our Post Master that runs the route when I am needed elsewhere.

I guess my question is just IF a PTF position could be made for the primary purpose of servicing the available AUX routes. I am the most senior RCA, 3 years of being next in line after climbing the seniority for years. I want to start getting raises and holiday payyyyy
