I am thinking about getting backup power at my house. I looked into a generator, and the prices were way more than I was thinking. Could I get some EcoFlow batteries that charge off the utility when we have power, and a generator when we don't?
I have an ecobee Premium and want to add my Aprilaire 700m humidifier to be controlled by the ecobee. I have only one extra gray wire that's not in use at my ecobee and air handler. Can I just take the brown wires, cap/wago them together with the gray wire, and use that?

A few days ago we lost power for the first time since upgrading to fiber. We had the same ISP as before and we could make/receive calls using our landline when we had DSL internet during a power outage. The internet was out but that was ok. We upgraded to fiber a few months ago and this was our first power outage with them. I tried to text the power company to let them know about the outage and it failed because during a power outage we have basically no cell service. I immediately picked up the landline and tried to call them but it had no dial tone and I couldn’t call them.
Our ONT was connected to a UPS that was running on battery when I tried to call the power company.
My dad’s work phone is on a different network than ours are and it also had no coverage, or way to report the outage because the power company requires you to setup texting online before you text them
We are concerned about this because if we needed to call 911 we couldn’t.
A few days ago we lost power. We get 0-1 bars of cell service when we don’t have power. It takes us getting in a car to even text the outage to the power company. We usually lose internet when we don’t have power. (The ISP is out before our UPS is) She was out and didn’t have a key to the front door for some reason and the garage doors were closed. I was upstairs and not paying attention to her knocking on the door because I couldn’t hear it.
About a year and a half ago we got a new garage door. I asked my parents to consider a battery for it. They declined the battery even though our opener has an input for one.
My mom is pissed at me for not letting her in the house.

I'm considering getting at least 2 Yubikeys. I want to use them as a backup or primary way to log in to my accounts, mainly Google and Microsoft. Is that possible? I would like the option to still use my authenticator app as a backup if possible.
