I can’t play the A chord

I am following the lessons from Justin Guitar, but I can’t get my third finger up under the other two. Even pushing it there with my right hand doesn’t work. Is this just a matter of practicing or is there something else I can do?

Lululemon half tights great, except for sweat pouring into my shoes?

After feedback from an earlier post I purchased a pair of Lululemon half tights yesterday. Took them out for a long run this morning in 80’ with a 75’ dew point.

They were excellent, except my shoes were squishy wet from all the sweat. It’s better than wet shorts chafing my legs, but any solutions for this? Compression sleeves? Body Glide around the ankles?

Audiobooks about running/running memoirs?

I like to listen to books about running while running. Just finished reading about Sara Hall and Keira D’Amato. Any suggestions? Doesn’t have to be world class runners.

I made it 5 miles!

55M. I started running again in February after ten years of mostly not running. I’m a lot slower than I used to be, but hitting five miles today in hot and humid weather feels like a milestone. It’s my longest run so far in the comeback.

Forerunner 945 battery expectations?

Love my 945 and wear it all the time except to charge it.

I run most days, have PulseOx turned off. After a day of use, it is down to 65% battery. Is this reasonable or are there other settings I need to check to extend the battery?

As it is, I charge it every evening unless I’m traveling. Without charging it lasts 3-4 days tops. Is this typical? I don’t know how long ago I purchased this watch.

Anyone do long runs at night?

I live in a hot, humid area. I keep trying to do my long runs very early in the morning but the humidity is killing me. My pace is way off and today I had to walk.

I seem to do better in the evenings even though the temp is higher. Would it be bad idea to just give up on mornings and do my long runs in the late evening? What do I need to consider?

Am I on a solid path?

I’m 55M. Started running at age 11. Ran consistently until about 10 years ago, when our twins were 4 years old. Life got in the way.

My personal bests are 5k-16:15, 10k-34:50, half -1:15, marathon-3:01 but these are from when I was 25. I ran a 3:28 marathon about 15 years ago.

Started back about three months ago from zero. I have a long history of injuries so I’m taking it really slow. I am now up to running a 5k 3-4 times a week. In week 2 of a 12 week build that will get me to about 24 miles a week with a long run of 8 miles.

I’m much slower than I was even ten years ago. I’m running at an 11 minute per mile pace which is by far the slowest I’ve ever run. HR about 145. I live in New Orleans, so now battling the beginning of summertime heat. This has all been very humbling given my past.

Does this approach seem reasonable? Is it possible to get back to faster running, understanding I’ll likely never approach my best times from 30 years ago?

I’d like to get to a point where I can be competitive in my age group, and I’d like to run at least one more marathon so my kids can see that part of my life. I’m retired now, so I have the time to dedicate to training.

Just feeling a little down.

How do I train my fingers? D chord

I am completely new and trying to use Justin’s Guitar lessons. I’m stumped on the first chord. Cannot get my third finger into the proper position. Just can’t get my fingers to bend that way. Any tips?

My daughter is playing my hand-me-down basic Fender. I’d like to get her an upgraded guitar with better sound and something easier to play, but I have no idea where to start.

We went to Guitar Center and she played everything from a $500 guitar to a $3,000 Hummingbird. I’m overwhelmed. Any suggestions?
